I'm educated enough to know I don't need to waste time reading **** I find uninteresting.

Let's just put this in a real situation.

You and a childhood friend go out for drinks.   You're making 30k selling hammers.   He invented Facebook.   Do you EXPECT him to pick up the tab?
No.
But you're comfortable telling strangers to "pick up the tax tab", right?
Yea, he should be paying a higher tax rate than me. The childhood friend and his rich friends.
Do you understand why that's ****** up?

"No, I don't expect you to buy me drinks but I want you to pay a higher percentage of your income to fix my roads.   Yeah, yeah, I know we use the same roads but you make so much more."
Look.

If maintaining roads and rebuilding necessary infrastructure for the entire country will cost $1Billion and there are 100,000 households then the "fair sahre" for every household is 10K.

That means Wilma Welfare and her 4 kids have to shell out 10K, marky middleclass has to pay 10K, and Bill gates has to pay 10K.

If that seems "fair" to anyone I'd be inclined to think they really don't understand economics and/or math.

It is far more "fair" that Bill pulls more than Wilma for this project.
Who the **** said Bill has to pay 10k?

I just don't think he should have to pay 70% of his income while Wilma Welfare pays 0%.
dude, as I have said before, I dont think you understand economics.  If Wilma Welfare has less money to spend because she has a higher tax bill that is less money that is being injected straight into the economy.  Because Wilma in order to survive saves nothing, she has to spend everything that she has to simply survive.  As you go up the income ladder you spend less and less of your money and save more.  Does saving really help the economy?  Not really. It is awfully hard to live on minimum wage, and harder still to live on welfare.  And if you think that the majority of people in these situations could so easily pull themselves out of poverty simply by working harder you are crazy, unemployment is crazy, most new jobs are part time nowadays, and most new jobs are minimum wage.  The competition for the higher paying jobs is so high now, surely you know all this.  So you want to punish poor people simply because they werent lucky enough to be born a T23?  And its not even just poor people you want to punish its middle class people too!  (which I have a feeling you are part of).  I dont understand why right wingers like you cry so hard for the rich, but have little to no compassion for the poor and even for your compatriots.
dude, as I have said before, I dont think you understand economics

Yeah, mike's proven that to be true multiple times.

yah and obviously unwilling to debate.  I think he did read it, but couldnt come up with a good rebuttal so this is what he says.  Ive seen him do this many times in these here forums.

Then you haven't been paying attention.    Be brief.   If it takes that many words to get your point across, you likely have no point worth getting across.

I mean, really, if you can't take a position on subjects as simple as taxation, poverty, and the economy as a whole, and boil your entire argument down to the level of a couple lines and a bad analogy that proves nothing, your point is probably worthless.

I'll make it easy.   In that poorly written mess, what NEW point did you make?  Something that hasn't been covered, ad nauseum, already in this thread?   Quote that line.   I can guarantee there is nothing without bothering to read it.

Is everyone else as excited as me while waiting for greeny to point out the bit of brilliance in that post that appears to have been written by someone with the grammar skills of a poorly educated 8 y/o?

Your continuing to evade the points of my post only serves to show that you can not rebut what I said.  And bringing out the link to something that has nothing to do with this also shows your maturity.  Good job.

I guess there was nothing new or interesting.  Otherwise, you'd have pointed it out.

Thanks for playing.

I brought up the link so you'd know WHY I don't bother reading your nonsense.

That way you don't have to wonder why.

It's not your fault, really.   We're on page 41.   It's been said, several times, by several people.   But your inflated sense of self-worth leads you to believe you've got something new and important.  You don't.    If you do, point it out.

That's funny, coming from the guy who doesn't know the difference between a flat tax and a progressive tax, and a tax rate and an effective tax rate.,
