Talking down to people tends to shut them off from what you're saying.    Read your last sentence as if someone was reading it to you and describing you.   How far past "the low information bunch - how to you frame an argument to ignorant people" did you get?

Conservatives do that a lot more than liberals.   Liberals talks that way about cons when they think no cons are around but cons do it constantly regardless of audience.
Lol.... Its true low information voters need some sugar coating - maybe I can hire lady gaga to help get my message across.

Honestly I figured the crowd in here could handle my point without me having to beat around the bush.

The softer version is how do you intellectually cater to someone for a vote when they care more about what Kim Kardashian is doing than what's in the wall street journal. To people that get their political news from a comedian because its ***more entertaining*** that way. Sadly, more people today can tell you who Justin Beiber is than Joe Biden when shown a picture of the two.
The Wall Street Journal...a world class news organization with an Op/Ed section run by Montgomery Burns.
You've pretty much just proved my point. It's a periodical that specializes in business, finance, and economic news and you bring up the Op/Ed piece in the very back of the newspaper.
It's a very widely read opinion page. And, for the most part, it's batshit crazy.
Whoosh.

You're right... You keep on thinking that reading the batshit crazy WSJ which specializes in business, finance, and economic news is no more intellectually stimulating than keeping up with the Kardashians.
I'm starting to think you may actually be developmentally disabled.

I'll say it again. The Wall Street Journal is a world class news organization. The Op/Ed page, on the other hand, is nuts.

But please, keep on pretending that I'm saying the entire newspaper is nuts.

Maybe you should have used *** *** to highlight ***world class news organization***

The main point of this in not abortion, but in how issues are framed to appeal to people in a way that encourages people to not think about how they think about things.  Just appeal to myth:

Wealth = Greed
Entitlements = Socialism
Global Warming Skeptic = Climate Change Denier
Pro-Lifer = Anti-Choice Religious Radical
Big Business = Anti-worker
Corporate Tax Cuts = Corporate Welfare

Etc.

Etc.

No thinking required.....

Agree. Too many people are content to ***not*** think for themselves and would rather just be told what to do. Case in point - Michelle Obama yesterday (maybe today) told a group of African Americans it doesn't matter who is on the ticket, just vote for the democratic party. Really?
So, basically, you're saying black people need to be told what to do.

Yeah, I'm sure that your message on any subject will be heeded by them.

Do you even read what you post?

I guess we have too many "low information voters who are ignorant".

Not at all what I said. The key piece was Michelle Obama said ***it doesn't matter who is on the ticket*** vote Democrat.

That's being told what to do rather than allowing someone to think for themselves.

Don't politicians make speeches telling people what to do all the time (on both sides)?

I'm fairly certain Romney told people how to vote in a speech or two. Why are you so racist?

Not really.   I just think you sound like an ******* when speaking of those less educated, less driven, less financially secure, etc, etc.    I imagine your circle of friends, if you have any, consist of moy23-clones.

So, really, it was about the money.    Got it.

Let's just be real.   You're at a point in your life where every decision is driven by money.   Nothing wrong with that but don't try to sell it in another way.   If that wasn't true, you wouldn't take the opportunity to spend so much time at your work and away from your wife and young children.  The way you're phrasing things is a little off-putting.    Being driven by the dollar isn't anything to be ashamed of but you're laying it out in a way that comes across wrong.

Personally, I think the people involved in this discussion aren't representative of the majority of the population.   We have ways, or means, to increase our income rather quickly.   So it seems like we have options at the ready.   Joe Lunchbox is pounding nails for $12 an hour.    Joe Lunchbox can't increase his pay with hard work or switching jobs.   He could work more hours, if available, or take classes at night(taking years to earn a degree).  But the simple fact of the matter is that the decisions he made on his way to being Joe Lunchbox are going to limit his opportunities.
This.

Joe Lunchbox would smack you upside the head in a matter of minutes if you lowered yourself to speak to him.
11/4/2014 5:30 PM
There is nothing wrong with Joe lunchbox.  Problem is Joe got laid off and Jose Lunchbox is pounding the nails.  With an air gun. And moy didn't break your balls.  And I'd love a response except you got me blocked and won't read or respond to anything I post anyways.  And nobody called you an ******* or told you he'd swing a lunchbox across your head.  But that's alright.  Doug lunchbox has a sandwich to share with you.

Obama reaching across the aisle the day after the elections:

At the same time, he noted, "Congress will pass some bills I cannot sign. I'm pretty sure I will take some actions that some in Congress will not like."

Can that arrogant **** take one day to try to figure out a way to work WITH Republicans?

Also, he spent plenty of time talking about working with Boehner, in general and specific to immigration reform.

Now Obama doesn't have Harry Reid to do his dirty work anymore.  I think we need to allocate $100 for extra veto stamps.

Obama has never worked with the Republicans on anything.  The only time stuff got done was when Boner capitulated on everything and gave in.
