Two points:

1.  The Confederate flag is not about white supremacy.
2.  The Civil War was not over slavery.

You want me to guess the thoughts of several million rednecks? No clue why they do it.

Does everyone that has a swastika want to kill 6 million Jews? Because that's what the swastika stands for. And the Confederate flag stands for white supremacy.

Like swastikas, Confederate flags belong in museums, not flag poles over Capitol buildings.

Are you insane?

What the flag stands for is easily discernible by looking at the history of the flag.

Reading the minds of the possible millions of people that own toy cars, t shirts, civil war memorabilia, and who knows what else with the flag on it, is not possible.
