It's a cross.
What does it symbolize?
To me or in general?
Both.
To me, it has no meaning. I do understand that in general, it's a Christian religious symbol.
So symbols can mean different things to different people?
Of course. But, for common symbols like the cross, the Confederate flag, a swastika, etc., there is a generally accepted meaning.

So yes?

Then the only disconnect is that you don't believe that whites owning black slaves is white supremacy.
They would have to believe whites are more superior than ALL other races, not just blacks... That's white supremacy. And how did these white supremacists treat free blacks? Do you know?

And speaking of free blacks what is it called when free blacks owned slaves? White Supremacy?

Funny.  Earlier, you seemed to be trying to argue that the Confederate flag ONLY mean white supremacy.

So it might have a meaning other than white supremacy to some people?

Do I really need to include "in general" anytime I post about a subject?

Or are you intelligent enough to deduce that I couldn't possibly be pretending to be able to read every mind of every person?

It hasn't been hijacked. The Civil War was fought to keep slavery legal. The confederate flag is the symbol of the fight to preserve black people as property of whites. That's white supremacy in its most undiluted form.

States honoring that "heritage" is racism.

Perhaps you should try reading a book beyond what you were taught in fifth grade.  You might learn about what the Civil War was really about.

Dumbass.
The original point. In case you forgot.

You obviously can't read the mind of every person when you struggled with understanding what the Confederate flag represents to me after I SPECIFICALLY TOLD YOU WHAT IT REPRESENTS TO ME.

I'm guessing that you still haven't read any books since Tuesday.  You're still stuck on what you learned in fifth grade.

White supremacists prefer the swastika over the Confederate Flag..... The Germans did white supremacy right in their opinion by killing anyone and anything that wasn't 'them'.... Including 6 million Jews and 5 million more minorities. A guy like dylann roof sporting the Confederate Flag is a racist - not a white supremacist. He was actually pro-asian.

You said it, paraphrasing, "stood for rednecks remembering a war they lost 150 years ago."

I think it's safe to infer that you think the flag symbolizes the South's fight to keep slavery legal.

All teh lolz.

Trust me, I'll never forget you saying that the South didn't fight the Civil War over slavery.

And much like the swastika has changed over time to symbolize (to those who use it) what it does now so has the Confederate Flag. Do you really think southerners still want slavery back today? Or could it now symbolize states rights vs the federal govt to people?

OK.  I guess you've proven beyond any doubt that you know me better than I know me.

Can you do any other parlor tricks?
