So you don't want to drop this?
*In general*, the flag is a symbol of the South's fight to maintain slavery.
Just like, in general, the cross is a symbol of Christianity. Even though I don't believe in Christ, it would be insane for me to say that the cross isn't a symbol of Christianity.
Oh please. This is spanking time. I mean really. This crap has to stop here and now. Words have meaning. Let us begin to use them correctly.
The flag was not and is not a symbol of slavery. And you said "in general" and that's a bunch of crap! It is the battle flag of your neighbors and relatives who lost a conflict less than 90 years into the founding of this unique nation with it's unheard of freedoms and rights not under a monarchy. It was revolutionary.
And we told you for the umpteenth time it was a two sided conflict. One guy says they can succeed because the states have the power and right to break a contract. Another guy says you can't break the contract because the contract was for eternity in this union and this blood union can never be broken or the union dies and we all suffer.
That was the conflict. Slavery was a part of it. It would have died anyways. Instead over one half million men and boys and civilians died over it.
That price was paid over and over with blood 150 years ago. Those people laid their eternal soul down early for a belief and it should not be soiled.
So for the last time we employ you to accept the truth of a nation divided over realities and differences that collided to make that nation we call modern today.
A scab will never heal if you keep picking at it.
So knock it off.
