Hopefully, a number of the 21 candidates that have entered the 2016 Presidential race will work towards repealing Obamacare.
and replace it with....? I thought that once the R's had control of both Houses they would advance conservative causes, end ACA. How many bills to ban abortion have they passed? Moral cowards and hypocrites. A pox on all of them.
Replace it with something that makes sense is the short answer.
The problem with healthcare in the US is cost. The primary reason why healthcare is so expensive is because, in the end, it's a "for profit" industry. You address the problem by examining the healthcare industry from top to bottom, understanding where the costs are (and where the profits are going) and attack it that way. By eliminating much of the profits being made, the costs in turn will come down, which then leads to less expensive premiums for HC insurance, which in turn makes healthcare more affordable for the American citizen. More people who previously could not afford healthcare coverage would not be able to afford it. Those who still can't afford it . . . well then, you can have a greatly slimmed down version of Obamacare to fill in the gaps.
Obamacare, as it has been implemented, DOES NONE OF THIS. Rather than address "why is healthcare so expensive, what can be done about that?", it just blows right by that and jumps into how to pour more money into an already bloated and financially inefficient, profit driven system. Then sells itself as "WE FIXED HEALTHCARE, LET'S MOVE ON!!!"
