That would be nice.  But Sandberg will do for another season, then I really think Espinosa (despite your misgivings) and to a lesser extent Sheldon will be perfectly good pieces at 3B, especially given the strength of the rest of the lineup.

Nhl 11 is awesome. I'd play it now but would rather watch the flyers instead.
i dont think ive owned a hockey game for the ps3, i have high hopes.

i did an nba fantasy draft last night which made me eager to play some nba 2k
Yeah, I am looking forward to getting 2K11.  I am still trying to play enough Madden and FIFA that I can justify getting another game though.
played each game for about an hour last night.

played NHL on rookie and was able to do everything well except put the goal in the net, passing and defense worked fine.

nba2k i clearly havent figured out how to shoot while driving into the lane. no clue how to dunk and many close shots ended up looking ridiculous

i'd gladly take any pointers on scoring in either game.
I haven't played it yet, but I have always been able to do very well at basketball and football games from the get go.  I suck at every other sort of video game though.

What system did you get it for?  Maybe we can do some online playing if you ever set up the internet on your system.
PS3.

i finally connected it to the internet a couple months ago but have never played against anyone online.

Its tough to score in nhl11 with your own rookie but work on wrist shots when powering up and it will start to happen. Aim for the high corners... works for me. The AI catches on if you only look for cross-seam one-timers - but they work as well if you are mixing up your shot/pass selections.

Wait, you claimed VD takes HBD too siriusly?  Were you high?
the one part of HBD that i might admit to taking too siriusly is i have an strong odd dislike of letting players go for nothing when i feel like with a little effort i can get something out of them. i often get at least some value for AAAA prospects and mediocre vets whereas most would just release them.

thanks.

i may not even create my own player. i'll likely play a season with the Red Wings or Stars first.

funny about the cross-seam one-timers, that is what worked back in the Sega Genesis hockey games and its the only offense i really know.

how does creating a player work with gameplay, do the games go fast because you only play your shifts?

I played my first one in years (and against someone I pseudo-knew) against dubbs.  It was pretty fun even though we had to talk via text message.

If I end up getting it for PS3 I will let you know.

creating your own player is pretty awesome - you can pick any team if you want and the newly created players don't start off that bad attribute-wise. I recommend a sniper if you want goals. playmakers are assist orriented.

You will play 4 preseason games to see if you make the NHL team or else you will be in the AHL until you do well enough for the big leagues. Then you have 3-4 lines at the NHL level and based on performance in games you will be placed on a line.

There are seasons expectations (goals, assists, shots, etc) for you to hit that you have to keep up on.

Gameplay speed is about 20-25 minutes a game - as long as you click through the replays, etc.

I get texts from him every once and a while.

I think I probably should have started the rebuild in Scranton this year, as opposed to trying to take one last shot before Dave Newhan leaves for free agency. Oh well.

anyone here use Jango to listen to music?  If so, have you seen the commercials for Norton on there?  The Hoff & Dolph Lundgren are cyber-criminals that do some goofy ****.

haven't you been rebuilding since season 3?
10/26/2010 1:45 PM
That's just silliness.

I have, however, being toiling in TM territory since about season 8, mostly due to apathy. Last year should have been better, except the sim decided it hated my middle of the order hitters.
