Siriusly, though, determine who you think should produce the best and line 'em up.  Not sure what kind of answer you're looking for.  There are no secret codes or cheats (other than the whole "flyball pitchers excel as SP3s" thing.)

Try to unbretify that, and maybe it could be answered. "The system" does not determine your rotation unless you were dumb enough not to set it yourself.
I assumed he meant the AI recommendations.
Hi, I'm Bret, have you guys seem my record in HBD?  Yes, TM, that is what I was referring too.  For my pitchers, I usually just hit the show recs/save recs.  I have recently started adjusting my lineup based on matchups but never really touched my Pitchers.
Wow, really? That's... wow.

I know I shouldn't be that surprised, and yet I am.

Yeah, bret...

I'm glad I didn't write down that nonsense about you being a wild card team in $.

My HBD cliffnotes got lost somewhere back in Season 3 I think and I really just didn't care to pay attention to it, now I am.

Hey, I was under the assumption that if it ("the system") is giving me recommendations for how to set up/play my guys then I should listen.  I don't read the HBD boards nor have I ever read through the help tab information in each area, so "oh it's bret" all you want.

OK, here's what I suggest, assuming you're going with a plain vanilla 5-man rotation:

1) Pick the five guys who have the best STA, and DUR of at least 20, as your starters.
2) Add their DUR and STA together (use a calculator... the total might get up to three digits!) then round it off to the nearest 5. So 102 would become 100, 103 would become 105, etc.
3) Set the TPC (Target Pitch Count) to that number.
4) Set the MPC (Max Pitch Count) to that number plus 10.
5) Set the Rest numbers for all five to 90.
6) After a couple of turns through the rotation, if any of them aren't back at 100% by the time their next start comes around, trim back their TPC and MPC by 5. Keep doing that until they stop showing signs of fatigue.

you lost me at 3 digits....

Meganed. I'm a sucker for self-deprecation.

Keep in mind I'm pitcher fatigue-phobic, and like running with a deep bullpen. Others might, and probably do, push their starters harder than I do.

Interesting and now at all how I do it.  Not necessarily wrong though.

I never pitch a pitcher below 100% unless it is by accident as well.

It's not exactly how I do it either.

O brother, you would think some things could be learned by osmosis in this place.
