Well, IÂ don't coast at all, so it couldn't be the opposite for me.
I've never done the outdoor biking for exercise thing, so I'll admit ignorance there. It just seems like those people's legs aren't moving all the time. Also, in my area, it seems like traffic would make it hard to never stop.
I would actually really like the fresh-air aspect, but don't see any benefit (over the stationary)Â beyond that.
The change in elevation is key... Â if you change gears properly, you legs shouldn't be moving much.
Traffic can be a *****, especially if you aren't quite good yet. Â Once you find solid areas it is better.
I bust my *** on my bike and part of the reason is because it is so fun to me. Â Flying through the town or park, feeling the wind, seeing whatever... Â it is pretty addicting and the main reason I do more biking now than running (although I try to do one of the two almost every day).
