I do like switch-hitters, anyway. But I try to keep my affinity for them rational.

Heh...  I, and I think most people with winning records, probably don't want those three guys ever getting more than 100 bats in an ML season...  for a season in and season out AS.  Awful.  I am not going to blow up the World Chat or anything...  other people can form their own decisions.  I can't let that one go.  However, since I intend to veto it that surely means I will accidentally approve it.  I don't even think coyote ever pushed anything that bad through.
I think you're overreacting.

Thumper is a cheaper alternative, who will provide ~90% of the on base, and 70% of the rbi potential of Chavez.  The other two guys, I dont recal much about, but if no one else gave him a better offer, then if nothing else getting the contract of his hands may be in pimps best interest
I think you overrate Thumper because he had one really nice year for you after several pretty poor ones - he's really not that good anymore.

That being said, I agree on the value of losing that contract since Chavez is about to die, which is why I'm not vetoing.
I think I overrate Thumper and Chavez equally, I just dont think that Chavez is actually 5M worth of an upgrade over Thumper this season.  Next season they will both atrophy even more, and the cost disparity will be even greater

Their value this year would be irrelevant to the deal, since Pimp is sending along more than the difference in cash.

I think robusk adds like ten points to every hitting rating whenever it's a switch-hitter involved.
Probably true.

It is rational...  I only add a pseudo bonus to splits...  it works well.

Yeah, I'm suave.

I still think it's a fair enough deal based on the Chavez decomposition and the fact he got three players out of it, each with their uses. Even if robusk has high standards, we can agree that probably 40% of the starters in the league aren't the kind of player he specifically is looking for. So if he thinks they fit his mold is moot, because it matters if they can have that impact for Honolulu.
