julian mcguire and trenidad brush gone. 2 first rounders.... but I got a Hootie/Leonard type 1B in HR now. Garcia should fit nicely in the line-up with Hartman and my catcher protecting him. Freed up some cash to sign Mesa in a LTC at 3B too.

I really think that was a bad trade for you.  You gave up a guy who is 85% the hitter who can field, a guy who is 70% of the hitter who plays the same position for a stud 1B and a AAA RF.

Based on just comparing the guys in the deal it is a bad trade but the impact on my line-up is huge. I don't need the fielding either.

My line-up as a whole is strengthened, at least its more consistant. Philips, Mesa, Hartman, Garcia, Olmeda will be tough to get by.... and the bottom of the order is still not bad with tessmer and wright.

Brandon Philips is pretty much the same player as Mcguire (considering McGuire plays 2B and/or CF for me) so McGuire was hitting in the 5 spot mostly which is a waste for a talent like him. Brush is so inconsistant - some seasons he's fantastic... mostly he gets his big games in losing efforts and strikes out when he's needed most.

The move was mostly to upgrade vL/vR Splits and BE in the heart of the order.... and to free up some LT cap space for SS tessmer and 3B Mesa. I'm working on getting a crap hitting, stellar fielding AAA Shortstop now.

Concur. If moy had someone ready to step in at 2B for McGuire it might not have been too bad, but that's now going to be a gaping hole in his lineup.

You don't understand HBD or baseball from what I gather.

You got a mild upgrade at one spot and a drastic downgrade at another (assuming you either start Wright at 2B and move Jiminez into the starting lineup or you start Tessmer) while also hurting your defense.

I looked at it from all angles.  It sucks.
