no, i will, i think start of next season i'm gonna trade anyone older than about 27 with a salary then try to groom a bunch of young players together
You say that every season...  but then you don't actually make any deals.
this is the season when i stick to it. i traded 4 vets during the season last year for younger "talent".

I think one of the reasons I hate that league is because I get the rapiest trade proposals sent to me for one of those two guys every week. Like a couple of AAAA relief pitchers for a legit top guy, and when I counter with something reasonable they say it's my fault for having him on the trade block.

Yeah, it is definitely the hardest world to trade in.  I nabbed some decent pitching in trades but have generally failed to get position players except for my CF.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of talent in it, either, as far as players. The whole pool just seems so much worse than usual.

I just get lowballed on every offer, and it doesn't seem like anyone has that talented of a roster to really deal for someone like Pablo or Jojo or Jocko, though I feel like I definitely gave up a lot when I acquired them myself...

He tries, but fears the vetoes. That, and he's an absolute pain to deal with.
it might be easier if you just became robusk and rlahann's fluffer.

I'd actually done pretty well scoring the trades in that league. I probably only really lost one, but that's only in retrospect when I gave up two prospects for two top veterans. The one I wound up flipping to robusk later that season.

But the deals I made to get guys like Pablo, Jojo, and Jocko all feel like wins to me. I just wish I got Artie Duran back.

You're right. I am and always will be a slave to robusk. The two decent prospects I got in return were just the scraps that I was lucky to get. No cash wasted this season, a few prospects added, and a VD sufficiently annoyed - $ off-season = success.

It's not a bad deal. It makes mbriese look like an errand boy, but if someone told me "I'll trade you two good prospects if you just sign these guys for me and trade them to me, covering their salary", I'd be tempted too. Depending on the worth of the prospects compared the freedom of the cap space...

im not annoyed at all, become robusk's toilet bowl if it suits you. you do make me miss dmang though.

In my defense, this team has been one of the worst in the league for quite some time. If I have to run a few errands to add some young talent while still keeping enough cap in case of emergency, then I'm happy to do so.

This is silly.

He very clearly benefits from those deals with really no strain on himself.

Yeah...  you can get deals done... but it is a much larger pain in the *** in my opinion.

It is silly not to...

I offered it to VD as well but he got greedy...  and mbriese gains from that.
