Shtickless - Unless Being Dead Is A Shtick Topic

bot - that trade balances your team out really well. Your hitting is still really deep and your pitching went from above average to spectactular with Condrey, Davies, and Blue + the upgrade in the pen.

My hitting has been atrocious this season and I needed to shake things up as well as get younger. I figured Wells, Ross, and Spoljaric are strong enough to represent the SOPs in the playoffs and Kobayashi's career on my team has been like Joe Borowski (sp?) with the cubs - always making it an exciting end to a game. Hopefully he holds down the wins for you.

Everyone always forgets Geoff Newson. He's been pretty great in his career.

I valued Dixon more as a defensive 2B/CF, but I already have other guys slotted for those positions in the future. I'm not terribly upset over it. It'll suck losing Rigo Diaz because I think he's never really cracked the surface of his potential. He should be putting up .400+ OBP and 1.000+ OPS seasons while being a Gold Glove caliber third baseman, it just hasn't happened yet.

I'm disappointed moy.

It looks like I've missed at least 3 Hootie HR updates...
He's been on a mini-roll. I have a deal with him - If he hits 25 homers this season he gets his contract renewed.

If he hits 25 with those ratings, it will be proof that you're blackmailing patrickm.

yeah - I missed that. Its nice having 4 solid starters in the playoffs but only necessary to have 3 imo. Thats what made Davies expendable.

Kobayashi single handedly gave that WS to vd last season. He blows every big game he plays in (at least for me) - unlike Morrie. I was getting sick of dealing with it. I hope he pans out for you. If he does you have an awesome team with no deficiencies.

The one hole I can foresee is catcher. I like Borges but he can't play that often. Brinkley is more of a DH with an acceptable PC rating, he'll never be good enough to stop a team from stealing bases or whatever. I was hoping to package Brinkley and a prospect to get a better traditional catcher, but I didn't have any real takers.

Having Kobayashi back there with Soto and Hitchcock should mean that I can lock down a lot of games.

Karnuth signed. I'm not thrilled with his vR.

The three teams in the NL North I think were the class of the league. This trade should put me more on par with them.

I'll miss Diaz's bat, but I have people who could replace him. I still might have the best top-to-bottom lineup in the NL this season, but now I think my pitching staff can rival anyone else's.

If there was a BABIP stat in the player page somewhere, I think it'd show that Kobayashi is mostly just unlucky. My guess is his extreme groundball pitching didn't mesh with your ninth inning defense. But who knows. His OSLG makes me think he's not getting rocked, it's just been a slow burn of singles.

I think I have one of the better defenses in that league, so hopefully it'll help him out.

I've tried just about everything I can think of. I have always had decent defense - I've moved him around in PC, innings he can come in on, SuA vs ClA, moving to a pitchers park. I think its just bad luck... or me.... or both. Either way - I just couldn't take the inconsistency anymore.

Bottom line - He's still a very good pitcher even if he doesn't manage elite status like his attributes would suggest. My guess - He'll probably break out and be awesome once shipped out of STL.

My bullpen coach is a miracle worker.

The NL North is ridiculously strong, I feel bad for the other 3 teams
