I have not trashed her either. I ask the question in kind of a rhetorical way.

If Admiral Stockdale is not stupid, after all his gafees, is it possible Palin isnt stupid.

The thing that really drives me nuts is that people who always accuse me of being partisan will blast Palin, with no possible room for error. She is 100% stupid, no debate!

Comparing Palin to Stockdale is...well, I guess it's par for the course for swamp.

How is that logical?

In the Vice-Presidential debates, Stockdale appeared to be a buffoon.   That's the logical parallel.    If anyone is willing to say "Well, no, Stockdale didn't appear to be ill-informed or unprepared", I dare say they will be exhibiting the stupidity that is easily recognized.

Maybe if your entire impression of Stockdale and Palin is based on Vice-Presidential debates, that might be valid. However, assuming that you have that one ounce of common sense necessary to investigate further, the comparison breaks down pretty quickly.

I think debates require preparation and quick thinking.    I think Stockdale, quite possibly, had the worst showing of any VP candidate in the history of politics.  If you're going to gather impressions of Palin while she camps with Kate plus 8, I think it's fair to gather impressions of Stockdale in a political setting where he should be fighting to get his running mate elected.
