Very stupid if you think about it.

Questioning citizenship of a man whose father traveled extensively isn't racist.

You've reached swamp-level dumbass.   Congrats.
Gosh, if only we had some sort of test case, where one presidential candidate was black but born in the US, and the other was white and not born in the US, and then see which one gets accused of being un-American.

The really sad part about this exchange, Mike, is that you don't care at all. It doesn't matter to you what goes on in the real world. This is just another opportunity for you to engage in an RSF. Yay, you win. Congratulations.

We're done here.

We're done when I say we're done.  You can STFU at any time but "we're" not done until I decide.

Why must there be a test case?   It's a *****(is that RACIST!!!!!?) in the armor.   There's enough to it for it to be questioned by a certain faction.  If they can create a little doubt, thus preventing the candidate they don't like to be wrapped in a nice political package, in the minds of a few, that's politics.   His religious preference was questioned.   His committment to America has been questioned.  Were those RACIST!!!! issues?

In truth, many people feel that anything questioned can be RACIST!!!!!

"Oh, they wouldn't say that if he was white."
"That's only an issue because he's black."
"No white President would be questioned about that."

Idiotic.   He's in the public eye.  By choice.  Goes with the territory.

If you question any action of the President, you are a RACIST!!!!

It's very simple if you think about it.
If you question whether a African-American is actually American, you are a racist.

It's very simple if you think about it.
What if we question if a Hispanic is actually an American? Or an Asian? Or a White person?

I was almost going to stay out of this because mike was doing such a great job of destroying you it was funny.

The fact is that the Birther issue isnt the only one that Obama supporters claim is raced base. The posters where he was a Witch Doctor, the Joker, Hitler and everything else were declared racist. The Tea Party was declared racist. The Town Hall meetings during Health care were declared racialy motivated.

So even if there is some racial undertone to the birther issue, it is just another reason for the left to scream RACIST!

And if a lie helps you scare a group of people into supporting you in the election...

Wear it!

You can deny it all you want swamp but after months of reading your tripe I am convinced that you are indeed...........A RACIST!!!!!!
4/28/2011 12:30 PM
Of course he is.  He doesn't support Obama 100%.

This whole racism argument is stupid and goes nowhere. We know that there are racists who can't handle that a (half) black man is in the White House. We know there have been some racist signs at tea party rallies. Unfortunately, when you state those facts, the people on the right explode and accuse you of saying that everyone who says anything bad about Obama is racist. Which is, of course, not what anyone is saying. But, whatever, it's a pointless argument to have.

And something else that is stupid is anyone claiming that something like people saying 9/11 was an inside job was Bush's equivalent of the birther issue.

At no point did any sizable percentage of Democrats ever believe "truther" nonsense, while just recently, well over 40% of Republicans bought into the birther nonsense.

The derangement on the right over Obama has far exceeded the derangement over Bush on the left. It isn't even close.

That's a diversion.

Nonetheless, I'll assume that poll was taken in the backwoods of WV by some liberal organization attempting to "prove" a point.   I know a lot of people.  Not one has ever believed Obama's birthplace was really in question.   Although it is fun to tweak the libs about it.

You know full well that a CBS/NYT poll is not taken "in the backwoods of WV by some liberal organization".

Denial will get you nowhere. Birtherism has become a mainstream Republican belief, at least until yesterday.

CBS/NYT?   Then it was probably just made up.

It really hasn't.   There are plenty of reasons to bash Obama.  His birthplace doesn't even register.

Oh, you mean like when an American citizen gets targeted by Sheriff Arpaio's boys, or gets snared by INS/ICE, simply because they have a Hispanic last name? Yes, that's racist too.

Thank you for that admission. I think we all know how rarely you give ground on anything.

The fact that "the left" may cry wolf on racism is not something I'm going to dispute. Anyone who called the Obama Joker posters racist was grasping at straws. But we're not talking about racism charges in general, we're talking about this one specific attack - which even you now grudgingly acknowledge has a "racist undertone."

Congrats.  You call swamp a liar non-stop.  Now you've got an admission of something from him and you're flying it as a flag of victory.   You're pathetic.

You're either oblivious or a liar if you really believe that.

And while there are always plenty of reasons to bash any President., the absolute batshit crazy that we're hearing from the right is unprecedented.

Did some lefties call Bush a Nazi? Yes. Did some lefties call Cheney a war criminal? Yes. Were either one of those accusations as widespread on the left as Obama is a foreign Muslim Socialist is on the right? Not even close.  Those were fringe wackos on the left saying those things. Some of the stuff the mainstream right says about Obama is just off the charts.

padna, and even you too swamp, I'd like an answer to this:

We all agree that the birther attacks are baseless bullshit. Right?

So why are you digging in your heels when I further label it as baseless racist bullshit? I'm not calling you racist. I'm not even calling every person who now harbors "doubts" about Obama's birth as racist, although I think we'd agree there'd be a heavy overlap between racists and birthers. I'm saying that this line of political attack is racist, and was designed specifically to pander to racists.

Why the reflexive pushback?
