I am not a fan so far but mostly because I found Grantland Rice to be a douche and I find this very concept to be a venue for overexposed older writers to try and become new and fresh again.

I liked the HBO article well enough.  But yeah, a half hour later I'm underwhelmed.  The Chris Jones thing just drags.  Simmons Lebron column is fine, but it's just an average Simmons column.  And I don't even know the shows they're talking about with the reality fantasy draft thing.  Klosterman's always just ok to me, never really grabs my attention.  It'll be interesting to see how much Gladwell is involved, I guess.

I'm optomistic about the whole thing.  I think Simmons analysis of sports has gotten worse over time.  I know he wites like he knows whats going on but he really has no effing clue.  But I like his pop culture references.  Klosterman is Meh, The article on HBO was good.  I'm waiting for Gladwell's debut. I am excited about the reality TV draft and fantasy league.

I just finished Season 1 of Sports Night on the shitter, Well I just finished the last 10 minutes of the final episode of season 1 on the shitter.  The other parts of Season 1 I watched several places that were not shitters and some other shitters.  It was enjoyable.  Season 2 starts sometime after this post.

I like a few of the Grantland writers, but the medium of not actually writing on current events but instead writing opinion thereof, might create a disconnect between the site and the intended readers. I think some of the writers on their own can pull off the concept, and I'm sure Barnwell will back his **** up statistically, but I don't know how many people will be checking back for a glorified livejournal.
