Hmmmm....I don't see a single "Society needs legalized prostitition because..." in there.

IOW, you can't think of a single reason why it's a good idea.

I think you're done here.   Go **** a moose.
Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!!

None of this applies to me.   I'm old and married.  I don't have any daughters who'd think "Hey, I can get paid for this?"

But, as a young, single man with no desire to procreate, legalized prostitution would have made me a lot less interested in the dating process.  The dinner, drinks, movies, conversation, etc, etc, would have cost a lot more with no guarantee of a happy ending.   That would have been replaced with "Here's your $50.  Turn around and bend over.  I'm meeting some buddies in a couple of hours."  And, once accustomed to that, there would be no need for marriage later.   We'd be a country of single dudes, hanging with the boys between visits to the sex shop.    And women would have to adapt and throw it out a lot quicker if they ever wanted to get married.
You're painting with a pretty wide brush there.  So you just assume that all men would not bother with marriage?  I'm sure most men at some point in their lives would want the constant companionship of a woman and there are probably a few men that want to have kids to keep their family bloodlines going forward.

Plus as a nation should we be passing or not passing laws because they will save the institution of marriage?

Society needs legalized prostitution because it is commerce between 2 consenting adults and the laws to fight it are costly and do nothing to stop the trade.

That's supports the trafficking of human flesh and may well include slavery.   The laws to stop murder are costly and do nothing to stop murders.

It's a very wide brush and was a response to a pile of death's dumbassery.    My viewpoint has been posted a couple of times.   Feel free to comment on it.

As for laws, we have one on the books.   Is there a legit reason to remove it?  No one else has been able to come up with one.  Can you?
6/21/2011 3:36 PM
No one has come up with a legit response to keep it, other than your goofy projection on the mass exodus on wives.

If the law is an ***, it shouldn't be there.

Basically America, any outdated law based on values that existed years ago or exists currently based on religious beliefs need a legit reason to remove it.

The simple fact that it enforces nothing but imaginary protection from the individual making a choice that some other individuals consider bad is NOT legit.

And, even if it is, the inconsistency that exists when we are not protected from other vices is summarily dismissed, based on some made up ranking system as to how BAD that vice is.

Seriously, give it up.  There is no legit reason to legalize prostitution.   Your best argument is "deny the right to make a living" but that's just ******* horrible.   No one wants their wife/daughter/mother to "make a living" that way.   No child says "I wanna be a prostitute when I grow up."   In fact, allowing it to be a job choice is just about guaranteeing that the poor and uneducated are further abused by society.

Just stop.   Your stupidity is showing.

You're asking to prove a negative.

Prostitution exists. Some countries, like backwater republics, the ones run by religious clerics, and the USA, implimented a rule that said "you can't do it". Others controlled it, but let it be.

You, being brought up with this backwards thinking, cannot get your head around it. I understand. If you ever left home, and by home I mean your country, not your front yard, you may see it in action.

You may not agree with it. Certainly, I don't. Don't agree with abortion either. Or, making burgers with enough sodium for 1 1/2 days. Or wearing too much make up. Don't ask for laws to enforce those though. In my country, and most countries run by a democracy, adulthood starts at 18, and we allow people to **** up on their own.

If I thought Mike actually believed that and wasn't just engaging in his usual, he'd be the most pitiable person on this entire website. It wouldn't even be close.

I'm not asking you to "prove" anything.   I'm asking for one good reason to change a law.   If prostitution were legal, I'd be asking you why you want to ban it(assuming you took that stance).

There is just no good reason to change it.

How about time and resource drain on police.

Ask any cop what takes up the most time and produces the least results in terms of felony convictions or changing anything. They will tell you prostitution stings.

Should we spend money on schools and fire departments or on worthless and costly hooker stings?

Is prostitution even a felony?

I'm pretty sure moosep addressed this earlier with juvenile crimes.   Slap on the wrist and send 'em home.   Stop wasting resources on juvie crime?   Is that your solution?

****, I don't know anyone involved in child porn.   Let's stop worrying with such things and spend money on schools and fire departments!!

Almost all of our laws are based on religious beliefs.  The vast majority of them can be connected.
