What Is A "Fair Share" When It Comes To Taxes? Topic

That would reduce government jobs.   More unemployment!  -  the left circa anytime you suggest reducing spending

From a business standpoint, this country should go out of business.   If a business always thought the solution was always "increase revenue", said business would go under quickly.   Especially if they thought their most affluent clients should pay more for the same product/service.

Back to tax code.... right now its too complicated.... so much so that only the rich can afford to find the loopholes.

Simplify the process. Eliminate loopholes. Eliminate tax breaks and tax lobbying. Eliminate individual tax returns.

Simplify the IRS to strictly finding businesses that cheat sales taxes.... its something they already do so of shouldn't be hard.

And reduce spending now!!!
Fantastic idea. Now implement it.

Oh wait...you can't, because you can't find any magic fairy dust to sprinkle.

"Honey, I'm reducing household expenses starting today"

"How?"

"STOP COMPLICATING THINGS!!!!"

Not that hard. Starting Jan 1 2013 companies no longer withhold income taxes from paychecks. Stores change sales tax calcs to account for 30%. Individuals no longer need worry about filing tax returns after 4/15/2013. Business continue paying sales tax as they do today.

Next.... start looking for wasteful spending. Shouldn't be to hard to find. Its everywhere in the government. Stop spending money there.

Simple.

Somehow the govt started Medicare, Medicade, Social Security.... I'm sure they could figure this out.... or am I putting too much faith in the us government?

Wow. That's near impossible to circumvent.

I wonder if there's enough tables in the world to cover the amount of people working under them.

I make it so!

I didn't say its perfect..... but its better than what we got. If one chooses to buy/sell goods illegally they can't complain when caught. Currently one can legally tax dodge via gifting, write offs, tax frees, cap gains, etc.... and that's BS. While lobbyists exist tax deductions/breaks will continue under the current system every time we pass a new bill into law.... especially with corporations.

The government isn't a business.
I didn't realize that.

No wait.  This "From a business standpoint, this country should go out of business" probably qualifies my statement.

FWIW, we'd be a lot better off if the government was ran more like a business.   And that could certainly include providing healthcare options for it's employees(citizens).

Yes, run everything like a business.  Making money is the only thing that matters.  Privatize it!
