Tea Party vs Occupiers Topic

I am a Tea Party member and I have been gathering my other Tea Party friends to vote for Cain for the last 2 months.  I don't give a crap what color someone's skin is.  I want to make sure the best person is doing the job.

Right.  And the people who are unemployed and underemployed in this economy have only themselves to blame.  Saying it might be related to economic policies/Wall Street corruption is just whining.  Pull up your bootsraps, *******, like old Works Smart Not Hard!

What is their "solution"?

The reason I started the thread is because I DO agree with some of the ideas coming from the more serious and more well thought out aspects of their outrage.

But the tea-party had one central driving message Taxes Enough Already.

They have concrete ideas. Less taxes and FAR less spending.

I am very open minded, and although there are aspects of the occupy movement that makes sense, I am still at a loss as to what their central message really is. Besides the fringe which screams "capitalism is bad" and seem to want a socialistic type of redistribution of wealth. Which I certainly can not support.
Agree.

Can't seem to find a central message. Bout the best I can get is that the OWS people are mad at the banks because they took government bailout money and the rest of the USA is mad at the government cause they gave the banks bailout money. Isn't this one and the same issue - government bailouts? Everything else I hear out of OWS is moronic gibberish... and I mean moronic.
Yep.  We should have flushed the toxic assets down the toilet and if some of those banks went with them, too bad so sad.  The banks who were intelligent would fill the vacuum and fill the need.

For godssake.   If you hate black people, you are probably a Tea Party supporter.  If you're an out of work hippie, you're probably a OWS person.  But that does not mean that everyone in the Tea Party is racist and everyone who supports OWS is a hippie.  Try to focus on the god damn message instead of the lunatic fringe that get the media attention in attempt to distract you.
...and this is why Cain leads the polls by a large amount with Tea Party members.

I did not say that if you are a Tea Party supporter you are racist.  In fact, I said if you are a racist you are in the fringe of the Tea Party.

But I am surprised that Cain has the support he does.  Not because he's black, but because he's the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City.

A friend of mine took this picture yesterday in the Wall Street area.  Yes, indeed.  Who couldn't take their message seriously?

Every side has it's fair share of morons.

Back in the days before Greenspan and Bernanke.  So it actually meant something.

How do you figure he was before Greenspan?

Also, the Aquila story is about to get blown up now that he's polling high, and once you say Cain and Enron enough times, he's going to fade away.

There is no Aquila story.

A company invested its retirement fund in itself, and the company collapsed.

Cain had nothing to do with it, except being in the same state when it happened. He had nothing to do with the decision making process.

Wow.  I thought Greenspan was put in by Clinton.  He was put in under the befuddled Reagan.  I stand corrected.

If you're 70 and broke, you fucked up.    Plain and simple.
Yep!

If you were involved with Madoff, you made a decision to do so.

Medical bills are another story but, quite frankly, you have to be prepared for emergencies.
10/20/2011 10:24 AM

A good percentage of people effected by the Madoff scandal had no idea their 401ks/mutual funds/hedge funds were tied up with Madoff.

Now the people that were managing their money may have known what was going on, but just like the sub-prime mess, they ignored what was obvious and really didn't give a **** about any consequences.
