Ok. So what? Marriage is still a long recognized right. In some states that right is being denied to same sex couples.
A long recognized "right" for a man and a woman.
Same sex couples have not been long be recognized as anything. If they were even recognized, it was as an anomaly.
Face it, the Constitution or our founding fathers weren't addressing SSM. Times have changed, even from the 70s, so rulings might be different.
But, as I said, stop using "long been recognized" or "tradition" in your arguments. It's counterproductive to what you're seeking.
