Mike $8 per month is for one team  if you want 4 teams that is $32 per month which is $384 per year.
Yes, just over a dollar a day.  Most people put that in a vending machine or supersize their fast food meal with that.    Hell, I think a cig costs about a buck now.  All of those are much worse for you.
I don't buy things out of a vending machine often,  I never supersize and I quit smoking 10 years ago.
You sure you're still breathing :)
Breaking things down to small time chunks is an old debating trick.  Everything is cheap if you break it down enough, my house payment cost me less than a $1 an hour.

Taco Bell tastes amazing and if I get 2 things off the value menu for lunch it fills me up and it costs me $2.50.  I may have done this today.  Yum.
Can you tell me the date they removed your taste buds?

Hear is another example if you wanted to pay off the US national debit over one hundred years you would only have to pay $5,100 per second plus interest.

That's a lot more than .23 a day.

My answers:
  • Cost Reduction - Sure, it'd probably help, but for the time I spent and enjoyment (and/or frustration) I get from it, it is absolutely a bargain.
  •

  • Player Development Change - The current lock-step predictable progression is perhaps the biggest drawback to the game right now, IMO. This is one thing that HD (Hoops Dynasty) does a much better job with. Players there have Potential, which basically acts as a cap to the possible development of a player, and coaches establish practice plans to impact player development, with those Potential limitations.
  •

  • Live Play - I know you hate it, MikeT23, for reasons unknown to me, but if we had it I strongly suspect you'd spend a lot less time on NCAA football for X360.

I wouldn't.  SLB has/had Live Play.  I played 2-3 games.   I don't play X360 online either.   Have to limit my innernerd.

Live play wouldn't bother me as long as I don't have to deal with it.    I'd play in worlds that don't allow it.

And expanding a costs into large time spans is doing the same thing. My morning coffe costs me over $750 a year.

I gotta say for me cost has nothing to do with it and just about any change to how drafting, development, managing teams, coach hiring, managing baserunning damn near anything that does not screw up the basic engine would be refreshing and renew my interest which is starting to wane.

What "improvement" to HBD would entice you to pick up another team?

Sorry just watching the news.  I hate it when politicians throw trillions around like confetti

Just think if you stopped drinking coffee you could buy 8 more HBD teams.

It's all about the money. I have 5 teams already.  How many can I possibly afford?
10/19/2012 11:12 PM
If someone who has a budget has 30 bucks or so a month to spend they will buy 4 teams and the only way they buy 5 or 6 is if the price is lowered enough that the 5 or 6 teams fit in the same budget. Not much incentive for WIS to have more teams owned if the revenue does not go up.

Everyone always says make this product cheaper and we will buy more. My family bussines we used to hear that all the time from the Sales and Marketing people. We usually told them if we just have to make it cheaper to sell more then I guess we don't need sales and marketing people so you think maybe you want to find another way to sell more?

What WIS really need to focus on is bringing in new customers and getting customers with 1 or 2 teams to buy 1 more. Most people who stay with the game seem comfortable  between 3 and 5 teams.
10/20/2012 9:16 AM
With that in mind I think an interactive user guide showing people how things work would go a long way to lessen the steep learning curve HBD has.
