HOF would be one of those cosmetic changes.    ADV would require a complete overhaul of just about everything and pretty much require a "reset" season.
Disagree with the specifics of the latter.  ADV could be made more meaningful by introducing a wider array of development trajectories and potentials (that is, by allowing both a wider range of developmental changes, and by making the timing of those changes less predictable).  This would be a major, programming-intense change-- but it would not have to disrupt the game or require a reset.

But I agree with your more general point.  The game's pretty good, and any meaningful change would likely not draw enough new interest to pay for the programming hours it would take.  I might want updates, but I neither expect nor need them.

The "problem" with a change like that would be the 4m increments that one is allowed to increase.   If ADV is made to be significantly important(I'm not sure your suggestion makes it so), those using 0 ADV would be at a disadvantage right from the start.   The caterwauling would require a budget "reset" in order to deal with the many "If they don't do something about this, I'm gone" threads.

Yea, I've said any ADV adjustment had better come with the option to reset to 10.  Or a mandatory reset to 10.

There's a lot about HBD that could be improved.  The suggestion forum is full of good and bad ideas. There are always people who defend the status quo, as that's working for them and/or they fear change.

Mike posted a while back that he thinks the only difference in Madden Football year to year is the new players. Changes and improvements aren't for everyone.

Someday another group of baseball fan programmers will release a new baseball simulation game.  A lot of us will try it out.  If it's any good, we'll jump ship. Fox probably won't care. They don't do much of anything to make money with HBD. It's too small for FOX.

As the person who probably answers more HBD questions than anyone, I'm not sure the status quo is a some dark, hidden secret that is "working for them" and/or fear change.

Some change is good, some is bad.    Virtually everything in the suggestions forum is "This would be good for me ."

Is knowing everything about everything an acquired skill or are you just born with it?

You're born with a lot of knowledge but you have to work at it to stay current.

With real time FA bidding?

LOL.  That's dumb.  Who had that moronic idea?
1/15/2014 7:49 PM
The current FA process is one of the biggest problems with the game.

Players initial demands have nothing to do with their market value.

It takes logging in 6-8 times a day during the arbitrarily short FA period to compete, giving an huge advantage to those are willing & able to put in time.

There are at least a dozen historically proven auction models. The HBD FA process follows none of them.

Real-time feedback on bids would be a big improvement.  Better than having to log in every 4 hours and another blind guess.

Mocking what they don't understand is what some people do best.

Oh, yeah, you're the moron.  Thanks for updating me.   Why don't you bump that thread so you can see the 30 people explain why you're dumb and zero agree with you.

I DONTTS UNDERSTANDS REAL TIME.

IS THAT WEN IT'S NOT FAKE?!?!
1/16/2014 5:47 PM
Feel like real-time would further benefit those who log in 6-8 times a day.  You really need to log in 2 or 3 times a day to be successful in FA.

Has death got his shirt yet?

I do! 106 days is not unreasonable. It did have to go to Canada.
