Oh, c'mon.   Enter "gleeman" in your search engine.
All I got was this.

I was in Gleeman2 for 4 seasons, and Gleeman1 for 2.

There are a lot of nice owners there and most people were engaged with their team.

It becomes pretty plain what the strategy is: sell players as they become expensive for a) other prospects, b) money, or c) both.  I figured it out the hard way in season one.  I had bought one of Gleeman's players.  At the end of the season I missed out on a pretty good IFA.  Gleeman got him,  if I hadn't spent money on the player I would have had more money to transfer, and he would have had less.  I would have had the player instead of a bunch of cash left over.  My mistake.  I learned from it and in season two didn't complete a trade with him because I was unwilling to include cash.

By my 4th season there were a few of us who thought that the cash inclusion in trades were bad for the league.  We even managed to veto a trade.  That was followed by an immediate chiding and rule change that made it almost impossible to veto any trade.  The trade was reposted and went through.  I left the league after that season.

There's no secret about how things are done there.  And those that stick around don't seem to mind.  In looking for my old teams I noticed a number of owners that have been there since season one.

Oh, and I never once read anything while I was there that led me to know that he had an internet following.  All and all, Aaron seemed like a pretty decent guy that runs his world the way he wants.  Everyone is free to spend their money somewhere else, but a lot of owners stay.  You have to give him credit for that.

"We even managed to veto a trade.  That was followed by an immediate chiding and rule change that made it almost impossible to veto any trade.  The trade was reposted and went through".

That says enough about the guy to me.
Basically a tard who enjoys being the king of the hill when he's 15 and the other kids are 8.
I just wonder how many unsuspecting new owners (NOT RECRUITED BY THE TARD's BLOG) wander in there and then leave HBD altogether from that poor experience.

I would consider myself an inexperienced owner at the time (and even now). I left hbd for awhile after that.

There are more worlds like that.   I joined Musial and found that 24(I think) of them knew one another in the real world.   They pretty much did what they wanted.  I found out the details when a trade was accepted and I said "WTF?  That's insane."   I was shouted down, as much as internet folk can shout me down, and was told the circumstances of the world.    Won 99 games and left.

A guy in the world I play in seems to use a similar strategy. When I figured it out, it bothered me at first, but I realized there's nothing illegal about it.

The only two measures I can think of to counter it are either for other owners to copy his strategy and take him on head to head (I would say it works best when there's only one fox in the henhouse), or for everyone to refuse to ever trade with the guy.

The problem with option 2 (everyone refuse to trade with him) is bordering on collusion, which would be frowned upon by WIS.

The best option would be to have private world rules that govern what can and cannot be done with trades.  And if that can't be done in your world, find another world that does.

tec, you're right of course, I didn't mean to mislead anyone that you can actually DO Option #2. I should have written out "(WHICH WOULD ACTUALLY NEVER HAPPEN.)" Damn lack of sarcasm in print.

As for the best option, well, I just personally decided that I'm not going to let it bugger up my enjoyment of playing my own game. If it does, then I check out, simple as that.

I don't give a damn about borderline collusion.  Anyone who's every been in a world with me knows I'll scream "WHY IN THE HELL DO YOU RETARDS KEEP ALLOWING THAT GUY TO DUMP HIS OLD, EXPENSIVE PLAYERS ON YOU FOR YOUR YOUNG, CHEAP GUYS???   THAT'S JUST STUPID!!!  IF ANY OF YOU HAD HALF A BRAIN, YOU'D STOP IT!!!!  OTHERWISE, WATCH HIM DOMINATE YOUR STUPIDASSES FOR ANOTHER 8 SEASONS!!!!!  GODDAM IDIOTS!!!!!"
