I'm coming up to the All Star break and already have some key position players dropping to 99% (whole team is pretty low durability)
Where do you guys set player's auto rest at? I have good depth but take a sizable loss in offense categories when I rest these players.
Thoughts? Thanks

I never use auto rest because most days I can log on in between sims to manually sub in fresh guys. I do that at 99 percent throughout the season but if I'm headed to a stretch against formidable opponents I'll go to 97 or 96.

Management Console.

If the question was what screen to set it at- Manager's Office->Management Console for the team, Manager's Office->Player Settings->Edit Player Settings->Type:Position Players for individual

If the question is what % is good, the answer depends on how much of a stickler you are for full-health players.  For example, I'm really anal about keeping players at 100% through at least up to roster expansion, then I tend to ride them thru the stretch run (they'll rest when they're dead). So I auto-rest at 99 for any position player that has a substitute available. Also, for pitchers I personally choose 85 for long relief and 90 for setups.

As for player performance, whenever I play teams that have entire rosters of guys in the 80s and 90s it just doesn't seem to the naked eye like there's any drop in performance for their position players (not that I can tell at least), but for pitchers it does seem to the naked eye like they do pitch a little worse when they're close to their auto-rest level. I might have remembered reading in the past that fatigue level for position players is related more to increased injury potential than drop in performance

Position players will have a drop off defensively, but not so much at the plate. I forget what % the drop off becomes much more noticeable, but believe it is 94-92 or so.

Actually my thoughts or question is about the (1)Defensive subs and (2) Rest Players Boxes ... First I want to know if you use or check these boxes at all ... The way i see it i only check the defensive subs box at the 7th or 8th innings with 2 or more runs ... I set my starting Batting Lineup at Rest 92-98 depending on team and situation so as to be replaced for an entire day not later in a game per the Rest Players Boxes ... Please your thoughts and subtle nuances if they are not too revealing ... Also i realize how much easier it is to draft players all 600-660 PA lets say and get 6 $200 K players for my AAA if need be and for efficiencys sake

I keep my auto rest low (88) or so. I don't want the Sim deciding when to rest players. I use player rest settings judiciously. If I have a platoon at a certain position, I make sure both players are also coming in to sub for players at other positions during games that are 5 runs apart.

Also, if I have a player's pinch hit checkbox on in the player settings section, I make sure that his position has a defensive replacement set as well. I have noticed that the Sim will not pinch hit in obvious pinch hitting situations if there isn't defensive replacement available.

The FAQ reads that fatigue affects injury frequency and performance.
