Waiver Wire Process Topic

Have they ever documented how waiver wire picks work?

If I'm ranked 1st and I claim 3 players today, do get all 3?

Or will I get one based on something (first picked, for example), while the other 2 go through the league. Only way I get them is if nobody else claimed them.

You can only make two claims a day.

But if you're ranked 1st, you'll get everybody you claim.

Thanks.  I asked the question poorly. I think you answered it anyway, but since someone asked me and I didn't know I'll ask again.

So there's no limit on how many players a team can be awarded in a 1/2 cycle or a day?

I could have more than 2 active claims going if I spread them over more than one day.  I can claim two PM2-2 and two AM1-1

If all of those players complete the waiver process during PM1 that second day, I'd get them all if I'm lowest ranked of all the teams that claimed them. Correct?

correct

If you don't mind I am going to piggy back this question with one of my own. If you claim a player on waivers with zero options, when exactly before the regular season can you do this and still send the player to the minors?

The "limit" would be 4.   That's all you can claim before a two cycles run.

He'll have to clear waivers for you in order to send him to the minors.

Even before the season starts?

Yes, he still has no options.   You have to have options to be sent to the minors or you must clear waivers.

If a guy is released and has no options I think you can send him to minors upon claiming off waivers, but otherwise via waiver or trade a guy with zero options must be assigned to big league or clear waivers again

If a guy has been released, in order to eventually make it into the FA pool, he will have had to pass through the waiver wire without being claimed.  So, yeah.

I'm just saying, I claimed him on waivers, he had no options, and I assigned him to AAA.  So generally if a guy has no options and is claimed on waivers he can't be assigned to minors without clearing waivers, but if you claim a released player off of waivers he apparently can.

Wait...what? Is this only for the #1 ranked team? i.e. If everyone had two requests in, does #1 get both of theirs, then #2 gets both of theirs (unless picked by #1 of course, ), #3 gets' both of theirs, yada, yada. I was always understanding that #1 got their first request, then #2 gets their first request, ....down the line and back to the top of the order...man, somebody led me astray (probably myself).

you were led astray, this is correct: " If everyone has two requests in, #1 get both of theirs, then #2 gets both of theirs (unless picked by #1 of course, ), #3 gets' both of theirs, yada, yada"
