Re-signing own Type A Topic

My world is in spring training, and my Type A's value is going down. I have an agreement to sign-and-trade him, but the site warns me I'll lose a draft pick to sign him, even though he's MY Type A free agent. Is that right or is that just the standard warning to every owner looking at any Type A?

Standard warning.

That action (sign and trade of type A free agents) is specifically listed as being collusive in the fair play guidelines.  Not sure I agree-- MLB teams have discussed similar trades (specifically around Francisco Liriano) and maybe even made one or two-- but it wouldn't hurt to run it by the chat board in your world.

My world is fine with it, but what I need to know is will I lose a pick to sign my own Type A

No.

Think it through . . . when a Type A FA is signed, the signing team gives their draft pick to the team that the FA has left.

Since you're both the signing team and the team left behind . . . .
