Seriously, it obvious you want people to play OOTP. Maybe you just hate WifS. Maybe no one will talk to you about OOTP. Maybe you're bored shitless. No one knows. But, when you keep on about the problems with HBD and the merits of OOTP, there's a reason.

1) Yes.
2) Yes, beta testing, which gives me access to the product for free. Maybe now you can deduct a motive there? Pre-recruiting for an online league that I may or may not eventually join? Yeah...nope.

It is now clear why a healthy discussion isn't welcome here. That discussion may lead to the conclusion that HBD is an inferior product. People may leave HBD as a result, which would further upset the competitive balance of the game, and leave users at the top of the HBD totem pole with no one to play against...some vets who have 1000 page threads dedicated to them.

Alright, obviously there is no discussion to be had here. So, I'll move on. Sorry for hijacking, hockey, and not creating a separate thread. Didn't intend for things to go this direction, but I don't take too kindly to people questioning my motives. Perhaps this little drama can help HBD though. There seems to be more activity on these boards than there has been in weeks.

I play in ULB, which is one of the highest-rated HBD leagues. There aren't any owners with more than 5-6 championships. The league has parity and rolls in under 24 hours usually. So, that's a stupid (and revealing) potshot at Mike -- right, he's just here for an ego-trip, not because he enjoys HBD.

Scientists refuse to "debate" creationists because it isn't worth giving them a platform, not because they're afraid creationists might disprove evolution.

To be fair, I could be here for the ego trip. But it would be sort of dumb to have played 160ish seasons. I could have played 15-20 and still be on an ego trip.

Ego-tripping and enjoying a game aren't mutually exclusive.

If you read one of my posts a few pages back, I acknowledged that people are "comfortable" with HBD...comfortable because they enjoy the game and see no need to play something else. Again there is nothing wrong with that.

Haha. Hey the more I read your posts, I do see that you have a good sense of humor at times. Your tone may be a bit unfriendly sometimes and I still don't really appreciate the attack on me, but it's all good.

Hopefully there's no hard feelings here...honestly. If you guys enjoy this game, I hope you continue enjoying it. WIS dying off is good for no one.

Mike could you answer my question. I'm looking for all the reasons in the world to play HBD over the other option. I'm looking for a MLB themed league and I know there are a few strong ones here. my biggest fear is I'm going to put time into a league and have the league fold...... however this seems like more of a risk with the other site since there doesn't seem to be a formal online league.

I also feel the other game is overly complex.....I prefer complex yet still simple to some extent.

The one edge I would give to the other game would be real players, as I prefer as close to real life as possible.

It seems the other game is other game is only sim once a day?

So now you know a little about what I'm looking for.... is HBD the best option? I would prefer here since I like WIS.

I've never looked into other options so I have no idea if this is the best baseball dynasty sim option.

That said, if you find a good, solid league with anti-tanking rules(assuming you don't like competing against 40-122 teams that mail it in so they get first pick next season), limited openings at rollover and active owners, HBD is a fine option. But, if you join a world that fails to meet this criteria, you're asking for trouble. Worlds seldom fold but they sit idle for extended periods.
