Are CFL rules the football equivalent of slowpitch softball rules?

In other words, CFL rules : Real football as Slowpitch Softball rules : Real baseball?

Does todddumbish not realize that if you combined NFL player talent with CFL rules, you might have the greatest game on earth (except maybe eliminating the rouge)?

Doesn't re-todd know that Slow-pitch : MLB :: AFL : NFL ...?
7/27/2010 2:38 PM
I do not.

Knowledge of the rules will not beat limited talent.   Push.

I don't even know the CFL rules.  3 downs, 15 yards or you have to chug a gallon of moose milk and maple syrup is in there somewhere.

You can't elminate the rouge!!!   Whatever that is.

Unlikely.

A rouge, or a single point, is scored when the kicking team either punts the ball through the endzone, kicks the ball through the end zone (missed field goal attempt), or when the returning team's ball carrier puts a knee down in the end zone after fielding a punt or missed field goal. It's a great rule for a punt, and a poor rule for a missed field goal in that it rewards failure.

Toss it?

I get

Clem Webster
Sawyer Castner  (proj: 79ovr, 70stm,86cnt, 71-70 L-R, 86vel, 76gb-fo, 87-66-33-53-56
and $1.5M

for

Julio Sanchez     (proj: 88ovr, 86stm,91cntr, 70-91 L-R, 84vel, 86gb-fo, 80-79-39-62

Should I have done this trade?

That's nothing short of retarded.

I wouldn't have done it.  You traded two decent pitchers for one who is going to be outstanding.   Without fully understanding the depth you have at pitching, it's a no deal for me.  And I don't know how long Clem is signed.

Ah grand! As for the depth, I have another pitcher at AAA that projects as an equal to Sanchez.  Would you say that in a few years time, that duo would rival the Glavine-Maddux duo of the 90's?

A scenario with the rouge that has happened...

Teams are tied or seperated by one point. Final play of the game, team kicks the ball into the end zone to try to get the point. Other team catches the ball, punts it back out to try to prevent the point from being scored. Back. Forth. Back. Forth.

I assume that adds to the retarded factor?

Oops.  I had it backwards.  You got the stud.  Good call.    If by "rival the Glavine-Maddux duo" you mean "Neither could break glass with a pitched ball but will get an extra 18 inches of plate", no, I don't think so.

I don't see how it can't add to the retarded factor.

What the **** is wrong with Canadians?

Most of them have been inbreeding for so long that it's entirely possible that their mother is also their sister and cousin.   Their family trees resemble a bunch of raked leaves.

Did you know that the NFL still allows drop kicks, like in rugby?

Would you agree that most NFL coaches are more concerned with keeping their jobs (read: staying conventional) than trying something inventive?
7/27/2010 5:10 PM

Yes.  Flutie was the last player to make one.

I think most NFL coaches are more concerned with winning.  However, if they're not sure their unconventional ideas will lead to victories, they will not try it.   Losing leads to firing.  Losing while gambling on something new leads to a quick firing.  You don't get hired for gambling.

I wouldn't panic after 11 games.  However, if you only won 69 last season, you weren't that good.  If you only made a few small adjustments, you aren't going anywhere fast.
