I love when people post players on chat.  It makes it easy to see if I want to offer for that guy or not.  Many times I do not even check the trade block since many players do not update it

Well, I'm gunna start doin it then if its what everybody likes.

That's a good way to decide what to start doing or not.

Seriously, though, I think it comes down to different people value different things and the value of timing.  Trying to censor posts just limits interpretation with no benefit. If you're in a world long enough and have a higher standards, other owners will probably start to get to know you as such.  Reputation builds both ways.  In some worlds I just know who I can talk decent TC with and who probably not to even bother looking at their offers.

Again, it's a public forum.   Don't click the links.   Problem solved.

I don't even bother posting players on the chat.  Isn't that what trade block, trade needs, etc. is for?  I have never traded before, but I understand that no one really wants those arb players anymore than the current owner does.  Best thing to do is simply release them into the wild and let someone pick them up in the FA market.
Best thing for who?  Its best for the guy who picks him up, but I have had a lot of success trading away those turds to people who think they can polish them

Agreed. Honestly, I rarely check the trade block because it is most filled with trash or with guys that are no longer available. Just yesterday I posted in WC in Moneyball a 23 year old closer whose ratings are already among the top in the league and has a shot to be dominant. I had no less than 10 people trade chat or send offers to me from that one posting - I wouldnt have gotten more than 1-2 offers if I just put him on the trade block. Now I am in a spot where I can maximize his trade value.

Agree 100%.. People hardly ever update their trading block.  When you post someone to chat it generally gets everyones attention.

Thats when its at its best, nothing worse than seeing someone trade quality and get junk in return. The "I would have offered more than that" trades are the worst trades to see, unless you are the one giving up trash.

One man's trash can be another man's treasure.  Even if the trash is a turd.

I had a player on one of my teams who was a regular position player.  Not a star by any means, but filled a spot in my lineup until a prospect I was developing was ready.  My prospect turned out to be ready a season earlier than I had expected, and the other guy was no longer needed.  I posted him in the WC and was subjected to a couple of "turd" comments.  But another owner found that my guy could fill a hole in his lineup, and he was able to trade a similarly no-longer-needed player on his roster to me to give me a slight upgrade at another spot on my roster.

A turd-for-turd trade, but we both got something we needed and benefitted slightly.

Congrats on exchanging your turds. Did you two share the TP too?

Do you really need to know?  Sicko.

When I get rid of a turd, I don't usually want one back. Wouldn't be sure what to do with it.
