When you pay to play a game that's dependent on other people who also pay to play that game, the whole "I paid, I can do what I want" doesn't really apply.  I hate that argument and so many people seem to use it as an all purpose fallback.

Why bother getting so defensive?  Anybody who questions someone for being an alias is just looking out for the quality of the world & the game itself.  If you aren't an alias, then there's nothing really to worry about.  If your feelings get hurt so easily, then stick to console games where you just play against the sim.

Lesliechow, I am not trying to open up a can of worms, but is it just me or do you get defensive about every little comment? It seems that you are always arguing with someone everytime that I read one of your posts(i.e. all of the comments towards MikeT).

Your decisions affect others if you sign a bunch of FA to terrible contracts, then bail on the team.  That world is stuck trying to fill a spot that nobody wants.  And I know, you say, "I'm not going anywhere."  What happens when you get a new job, have a baby, find a girlfriend, etc.  You may not intend to leave, but life changes may force you to leave.

Your decisions also affect others if you make stupid trades which tears down your team and bolsters others.  It increases the talent gap, which renders a world a pile of garbage if the gap gets too big.

And to be clear, I'm not saying you're doing either of these things, but you can't be so blinded as to think your decisions don't affect anyone else.

Yeah, 31 other owners pay to play the game too.   What you do affects them.   Otherwise, WifS wouldn't even have the very loose rules governing the game and owner conduct/participation.   You're not playing HBD in a vacuum. 

And grow a thicker skin.  HBD has been around for about 4 years.   People have seen a lot.   A new owner joining a bunch of worlds and signing old players to long term deals has been done.   And it wasn't good.    I think there is some fairly well-known owner(although not well-known enough for me to remember) who has done this several times with an alias.

Alias confirmed.   That last post of mine set him off.    Does anyone remember who it was that joined worlds and did mass releases?   Then, when WifS ruined that, started signing tons of bad deals?   I'm pretty sure that's who Mr. Chow is.   The long posts with proper sentence structure and paragraphs give it away.   Well, that and the mass world joining.

Can't admin find out who aliases are and investigate?  They don't have to reveal it to us, but they can compare names/CC numbers (since I doubt people get a different CC to start an alias...but who knows).  Once they find an alias and that alias is being accused of shoddy behaviour, they can fire of a sitemail saying "Just a heads up, "baseballfan_X".  We know you're also "BaseballBob27" and you're now causing similar trouble under your new alias that has other owners riled, and rightfully so.  Get your act together or you will be permanently banned from HBD."

Seems that's within their rights, given all the other stuff they dish out bans for.

I don't think WifS actually gets the credit card numbers.  I believe they use an outside source for that.

But, in truth, they're selling a product.  The only way they make money is to sell.   They react after a problem surfaces.   In all honesty, I'm not sure they should do it any differently.   Yes, we'll ***** about alias activity but they still make the sale.

I agree.  But you really can't expect ADMIN to put people on notice for trouble that they may (or may not) cause in the future.  Because, as you know, "this will never happen".

I think jtpops was asking why, once a "troublemaker" has been established and dealt with, ADMIN couldn't attach a Scarlett Letter to any future usernames that are created with the same credit card.

If you send them a ticket asking if x user is also an alias of y user, they can tell.

I think they do that by IP address.
