Eastbay Forum Banner Ad Topic

Anyone else getting this banner ad significantly slowing down page-loading in the forums... at first I thought I had a virus the way page loaded, but it is happening on two separate computers and it is only when the Eastbay ad is in the banner.

EDIT: Just noticed that it was "Eastbay" not "Eastboy"... spectacular advertising that ****** you off and doesn't even get it's name across clearly.

Yup.  But you'll never get WIS to make a sponsor fix a banner ad.

You could send the most virus laden, memory-hogging, trojan to WIS, and as long as it came with a check, they'd put it up.

I submitted a ticket; we'll see what their response is.

How much do you think they make off of those ads?  Don't they only get something from those vendors if people click on the links and them make a purchase?  How many people are going to do that on an advertisement that ****** them off?

Banner ads cost significantly more on the site I work for, specifically because users hate them so much. But evidently they're effective enough that advertisers keep buying them.

"Kasey -- we will try to escalate and remove from the ad server.

If you see it again, could you print screen and email a screen shot to [email protected] and use "Eastboy Banner" as the email subject?

Thanks"
