Is the Live Game Management ever going to happen?

Yes, according to patrickm885.

This is on the list for a future update (along with LIVE).

Alas, there is no timetable set yet, so don't hold your breath.

Thanks.  I'd also love to see a pitch breakdown in the boxscore showing how many times the pitcher threw his #1-#5 pitches.

How does this matter?

So we can try to determine whether or not a catcher's PC rating effects the P throwing certain pitches and certain frequencies

"This will never happen."

Primarily because the engine does not sim on a pitch-by-pitch basis, so any numbers assigned would be pure window dressing.

I'd like to see it if only to do the play by play. Would be difficult without pitches. Watching a game live would make it that much easier though. I'd LOVE to see live play or at least the ability to upload my HBD teams into that game.

If you do not know how many times a pitcher uses his 1st pitch vs his 2nd or 3rd, then what is the value of having a rating for the 1st pitch, 2nd pitch etc?  If the game is not simmed on a pitch-by-pitch basis, then how is it simmed?  Then why does a catcher's pitch calling matter?

It is simmed on a PA-by-PA basis.

Th catcher's PC impacts the effectiveness of the pitcher.

*How* it does so is unclear, and has been explained in contradictory ways by CS/Dev Chats. The two main theories out there at the moment (among those who think it matters, since there are also those who think it is worthless) are:

1) PC helps pitchers equally, essentially acting to depress OAV.
2) PC boosts the effectiveness of a particular pitcher's pitches, perhaps by making the engine place greater weight in its calculations on the P#1 and/pr the highest rated pitch.

I think they need to make it like madden.  Full video and all. Let me watch a game of HBD.

This wouldn't take too much development.  It's probably something they can squeeze into the next release.

I've been watching my games Live on the beta test site for the last few months. It is pretty good, but they need to still improve the bandwith of the video feeds...when you go full screen it is quite grainy.

The streaming video on the iPhone app is better; you should give that a shot.

That's why I got an iPad, just for this HBD update. Much better than the small iPhone screen.
