That's part of it. He's actually a converted tryout camp guy stuck at 1B, but for some reason Sparky decided he belonged on the mound anyway.
Another interesting result of that is that I'm pretty sure we played the entire game with only 8 men on the field.
Through that entire thing, there was only one ground-out (x-3) by the other team, and the 1B-turned-SP also recorded one otherwise-unaccounted-for putout. I guess he pitched then sprinted to first base on contact? No wonder so many runs were allowed.
