Can this guy give me enough innings in a #5 Starter role to make it worth while?

absolutely.  i love guys like that, because their OVR ratings keep them inexpensive, and others undervalue them.  it would help if you have at least one big DUR/STA reliever; it won't work as well if you have a bunch of 70/14 RPs in your 'pen.

sad thing is thats what you got with the 7th pick in the 1st round...

i agree he should work well as long as you have 1 or 2 workhourses in the bullpen as well.

I agree with above.  You'll need two long relievers and one other setup man with a high durability.  Personally I'd use him as my LRA and spot start him when needed, however.

Normally, yes I would make him a long reliever. But, I declined the option on my #5 Starter and dont really have anybody to step into the role other than him.

Or you could lower your other 4 Sp's pitch counts, go with a 4 man rotation and make this guy a LRA.

Or he'd make a good Tandem B after a LHSP Tandem A. In fact, if you lower his pitch count to 40 you could probably tandem B him every third day. It would require a lot of manual switching around of your pitchers but if you're on the site anyway ...

I like to go with a 4.5 man rotation, where I have my main 4 guys with somewhat low pitch counts and keep a guy like that in the pen who makes ~ 10 spot starts a year.

Although I will note that I am also OK with using a 60 STA guy as my SP1, seeing that I generally don't mess with RP's who aren't good for 75+ IP.
