There are no lefty ss, 2b, or 3b in the game, of course. Naturally, the logistics of a lefty throwing to first just is not sensible. So, my question is has anybody played a lefty cf at 2b or rf at 3b without thinking about it? If so, what happened?

it gets mighty ugly.  tons of - plays.

So, even as an emergency for a small stretch of games you would advise against it? Does anybody have a player link who has done it so we can see some concrete data?

Go to Player Records, single season, all teams, bad plays(2B) or 3B or SS and check.   Most of them at 2B/3B are lefthanded.

The link I posted was S13.  78/80 with acceptable arm numbers for a 2B.  But he's LH.   20something errors and 20something negative plays in 140something games.   Pretty much 1 every three games.  Which doesn't sound horrible but you don't get to pick when they happen.

In season 7 Earl Lawrence played 131 games at 2nd base - he made 25 minus plays.

I just experimented with a lefty SS through Spring Training.  He had approximately 84 in defense across the board.  He had like 7 errors in 14 games.  I quickly found a replacement for him.  LOL

I don't think I've ever seen a LH player with 80+ across the board defensively.

Not saying they don't exist, just don't remember seeing one.

Edit*: I looked and found one.  But they do seem pretty rare.

I drafted one in ABU.   Not sure if he's the one you found but he's there.

Nope.....I found this guy: Joseph Chang, who actually got used as a SS by one of your former division-mates.  Looks like it took him about 30 games, 9 errors, and 18 bad plays to catch his mistake.

By the way, I just remember my guy because he was the first one I had seen.
