Base Stealing Aggressiveness Topic

I'm sure this has been brought up numerous times, but it sure would be nice if base running settings were adjusted player by player rather than team-wide.  There are guys you want running out there balls to the wall, and there are others you want glued to the bag until contact is made.  This is one instance where trying to define the character of the team is way the hell more ineffective than pinpointing the characteristics of the individuals on the team.  One size don't fit all.

If you leave it at Average or less, only the guys with high BR ratings will take chances. The more aggressive you get, the more mediocre to bad baserunners will start to take chances you don't want taken. The better baserunners should run even at the less aggressive settings.

While that may be true, there is also the "creating more chances" thing. The faster, better runners "create more chances" with the more agressive setting. There really should be a way to adjust these settings individually, but that's already been ruled out and discussed at length. A blanket setting for the entire team just isn't the best idea.

Did they rule it out simply as an enhancement that would be too time-intensive?  I don't see how anyone involved with the game could question that it would be a positive improvement.

They claim the game can't handle it. I am skeptical, I have played similar games that can indeed handle it. However, they stand firm in that it can't, therefore won't, ever be possible.

The problem, if there is one, is that SB% is pretty much dead-on with MLB in most worlds.   However, it's not unusual for the best basestealers to be successful 90%+ of the time.   So, with individual settings, owner would only send those players and have the rest set on "never".   Then the SB% is out of whack.  So, in order to do individual settings, the entire SB/CS engine would have to be reworked.   And the people clamoring for individual settings would be back at ground zero because their 41/3 guy will become 31/13.

The entire SB engine DOES need to be reworked already anyways. Your assumption is also wrong, but that's nothing new. The problem is that the settings, as presented, are simply not realistic. No manager would have a blanket approach like that. Individual settings provide more managerial control. It's more realisitc. I realize you miss on the simple concepts sometimes, Mike. Generalizations are a mf'er.

You're dumber than a box of rocks.  You agree with me and then tell me I'm wrong in the next sentence.  Overall, SB% is very realistic.   Individually, it's horrible.  Individual settings, with the current engine, would produce 90% success rates league-wide.    Now crawl back in your dumbass hole.

Your assumption about WHY, smart guy. Again, your comprehension fails you. I don't know why I even bother to respond to you. You hide the minute you've been proven wrong anyways. Still learning how to use "ANY", bright guy? Shall we all chip-in and get you a tutor?

So, that's the PROBLEM? And you are attempting to pick apart MY words? You just don't do well at the whole "English" thing, do you? Stick to conversing with those down on your level. The adults are talking here.
