I'm sure glad I missed those tumultuous times.

On a side note, I think "tumultuous" must be a canuck word.   Is there another word in the English language with so many "u"?

Vacuum. Except up here, it's vacuuum.

Counting is not your forte', is it?

I always think there is an "r" in tumultuous and the root, tumult

So why do we try to hide the fact that HBD is very complicated and time consuming. Compared to HD and GD it is far more complex.

I think if we let people know this it will help the game overall!

Who's trying to hide that?   I think most people who give advice say "There's a lot to do in your first couple of weeks.   Try not to feel overwhelmed."

Methinks that Braziman doesn't know the meaning of the word "anagram".

I disagree.  If anything, telling people the game is so hard (and they should think twice before jumping in) will only cause them to be drawn in ... humans just think that way

And not for nuthin, but what makes the game "difficult" is all the "rules" side of the game.  I think people jump in thinking they know "baseball," and they may know it very well.  But they don't know 40-man, Rule 5, DFA, waiver, options, arb clock, Type A/B, etc.  They just want to play right away.  So I'm guessing they just ignore the "other stuff" (which coincidently is important early in a season), get frustrated mid-season when their lack of attention to the other stuff causes an issue of some sort, then bail at the end of the season because they are soured by the experience

It isnt just the rules. From top to bottom there is a depth of management that is not present in GD and HD.

What I don't know about anagrams I make up for in my knowledge of canuck suckage.

I have always wondered why you get the occasional post from a guy saying he's leaving. Why bother with the post? Is there a purpose to it?
These posts are useful for those of us not in HBD who are thinking about trying it out :)
As opposed to the 3.6 billion posts made by folks who DO actually play the game.

I'm outta here.

You will surely have a learning curve, but overall, for simulated sports strategy - there is NO competitor out there.
