Trade Rape 101 - jrcpga & Clarkson Topic

It seems kind of chicken to me to force a owner out of the league who built his team within the TOS.  You might consider it a lame way of building a team, but he broke no rules. If you are going to beat him, beat him playing the game, not because you chased him away because you can't beat him playing the game.,,,The summary of this world to me is...If you can't beat him, then lets get a gang together and chase him away.

Not really.  The summary is if I'm going to spend $25 to try and play a game the right way then I expect those I play with to follow suit.  I'm not going to act snobby and **** on it because it's a public world (which I often see is the case around here).  Instead we're going to try and rise up and make it better.  He doesn't have to leave, but he will have to play the right way and not take advantage of others.  My intention was never for him to leave, my intention was for his team to decline like every team eventually has to.  That will happen, I'm committed to it now.  I waivered, I contemplated, I buckled . . . but now I'm clear again.  Read the blog.  Read the very first entry.  That's what this was about.  There is a natural ebb and flow to baseball and this world has defied that until now.  In fact I welcome you to join us plague, help us turn it around.

plague is all about taking advantage of others.   You may want to rescind that offer.

I agree play the right away. The right way is too veto his lopsided trades. All worlds should  be proactive in stopping veteran owners from doing 3 for 1 trades with noobs. When I hear one owner say that 14-18 owners have banned together to rid their world of 1 owner who built his team within the rules instead of beating him on the playing field, well that just seems like they have gone with the we give up, he is too good, lets get rid of him and let someone else coach his team. That just seems lame to me, especially when 1 owner said that he joined the world not too beat this owner, but  to rid the world of this owner.

I appreciate the invite, but even if I was looking for a world, I would not join a world that has the mentality of getting rid of a owner because of his success. If I build up a successful team and start winning 110 games a season, what makes me feel comfortable that the owners of this world would not bring up some new bugaboo to rid me of the world.

Mike is right. I am all about getting the best deal for my team. I believe the current system works if used. Don't complain if I make a trade with someone and the world refuses to veto the trade, don't come after me 15 seasons later because I improved my team within the rules.

Because I built mine into winning a 115 games last season with no ill will.  You can believe what you like, the root of what is trying to be done is just.

I don't have a belief one way or another, I am not in this world so the outcome is none of my business, but I am opinionated and 1 of your owners chose to bring this topic to people outside of your world.... I am just commenting on what little has been posted in this thread. I don't know the owners history, besides what was commented in this thread, which seems to be he improved his team by trading with people who were  ignorant in what they were doing. Those ignorant owners willingly accepted the trade, and the world willingly let the trade be approved without vetoes, and now there appears to be a witch hunt for this 1 owner. You have started doing the right things by using your vetoes, but that does not seem to be good enough for your world.. I usually believe you beat people in game, which does not seem to be the case with this world.

The other thing that is a warning sign to me is the owner who is complaining took over 1 of these super charged teams. I would think more highly of him if he took on a rebuild team, but he took over a consistent 100-120 win team and now wants to rid the world of one of the most successful owners in the world.......The whole situation has a red flag to me.

No red flags.  He took it over midstream and hasn't made any bogus deals since.  I don't expect him to completely destroy the team, but let it naturally progress as it does.  All you need to know is that an owner that has been in the league since it's inception has just spoken out on the world chat about things.  He is one of the finest owners in the league, solid guy, plays right . . . and he's basically tired of it.  People come and go in public leagues so it's tough to just say, "Oh they should have vetoed."  New owners are gunshy at times and not quite sure.  Others should be there to help so they can learn to enjoy the game.  No offense (actually scratch that, any offense you take isn't my problem), but you sould like an opportunist yourself and would be happy to pull one over on someone if it got you over.  That's no way to play.  I'm don't put much faith in owners ratings and win totals (championships, etc . . . ) they don't mean anything.  I put faith in how someone plays and conducts themselves.

Call it whatever you want. I believe you play within the rules. That's what the rules are for, if you don't like the rules then go through the process of changing the rules. If you want to make a rule that 1st season owners cannot make trades then make that rule, but don't complain when someone within the rules makes a trade with a 1st season owner....

I am not here to compare my record to your record. My goal is to try and play a game against competition and do the best to win within the rules. I am not looking for others praise or justification for winning, if I win that is my satisfaction, not because others deem it a worthy victory.

If said owner was losing none of you would be complaining about his 3 for 1 trades, but because he is winning people are tired of it. That is what it always comes down to, if you can't beat him get rid of him.

Sorry plague, I disagree.  Again read the blog.  I've been very heavy handed on an owner who has lost 100 or more games for over 10 seasons.  I wish he would leave as well.

So this time you're speaking with someone who doesn't operate in what you consider the norm.  I'm looking for balance, on both ends.

For the record, I haven't even looked at your record.  Like I said, doesn't concern me.

We'll just diasgree here.  We're dealing on different plains.  I'm looking for parity and a competitive experience for all.  You're looking for something different.

I am not judging your goals for the world. I only made a comment about records because you spent half of a post talking about putting faith in records. I was saying its not about your or anyone's approval.

The below quote is the quote that had me going.

"Lastly, the only reason I joined up in Clarkson was to help bust up the two juggernaut franchises and to restore competitive balance to the world."

Here is the team he took over.

Reminds me of a old George Carlin joke

In case of a emergency on a plane I will step on the widows head, push the children out of the way, knock down the old women, so I can be the first one off the plane and better assist others.

You don't find the irony that he joined the world to break up super teams by himself taking on a super team?

I also find it hilarious when someone responds to you while saying "I've got you on ignore".  Dumbass wrote a book responding to what he couldn't read.
hahaha
