How can he be demoted as a rule 5?

No idea but it wasn't a manual move.  SIMMY did it.

if he cleared waivers and is offered back to his original franchise and they decline he can be demoted

which judging by his transaction list doesnt seem to be the case..

I'm pretty sure it no longer says "Rule 5 Draftee" at that point.

offer back is not in his transaction history

but placed on waivers is

This is the problem.   Why did SIMMY make the move?   What is the loophole that should be closed?

Why and how?  Simmy shouldn't be able to circumvent the rules of the game.

I just picked this team up this afternoon as an abandonment.  The "Let the AI manage the DL" options were all enabled.  I'm guessing there was an injury, and SIMMY auto-demoted this guy from ML to AAA.

I'd like to promote him back to the majors because I could use him as a backup catcher, but I'm going to first open a ticket to report this as a bug.  Leave him in AAA so that ADMIN can see the problem for themselves.

I think you pressed the "Do some of that voodoo that you do best" button!

He's got great defensive ratings for a catcher.  Worthy of being a backup/defensive replacement.
