a lot of opinions out there. Looking at my experience here is some stats from two C's on my team who platooned together over the course of 7 seasons:
Season C1 PC C1 ERA C1 Inn C2 PC C2 ERA C2 Inn
10 60 4.86 769 85 4.82 667
11 61 3.94 859 85 4.56 606
12 61 4.20 916 85 3.82 552
13 61 4.10 597 85 4.12 588
14 61 3.69 941 85 3.67 523
15 61 3.13 868 85 4.23 594
16 61 4.44 813 85 4.17 563
Totals 61 4.01 5763 85 4.20 4093
Statistically speaking the 61 rated PC was better than the 85 PC over the course of the 7 seasons. Some of that has to do with the fact that he was on fire in season 15. Despite these stats, I do believe that a high PC player is valuable and next season I'll have two completely different C's, one with a PC of 55 and one with a PC of 83, so we'll see how big of a difference those two have on the pitching staff.
