Update Impacting 6 year minor league Free Agents Topic

I was thinking more along these lines:

The way this change will effect me: I still only sign the draft picks I think are big leaguers (with the occassional execption of when I have left over Int Bonus money that I cant spend).  I will wait until the day of the Rule-V and sign as many MiL'ers as I need to have 25 per level and will assign them based upon salary.  No thought will go into whether I have a SS,C, CF..ectera.  Within a couple of seasons I will have entire rosters of DH's and we will win 10-20 games.  Some owners wont even put in the effort I described.

That may have more to do with you sniveling and whining and carrying on than any actual impact of this change.

Sign your draft picks. Sign the IFAs. Promote every season. Result; no more than 10 retirements a season.

Any idiot can do it.

So, because you don't really care about your minors, they'll become worse than they are now?    Is that supposed to be an argument against the change?  Because it's a pisspoor one.   If you don't care now, you won't care later.

The difference is: I only care about winning at the big league level.  My minors are for development only.  Signing supplementals, second round picks, mid priced Ints...ect.  does not further this interest so I wont do it (unless I want to be in a world that demands it).    Promotions are nice but are only necessary for future big leaguers.

if you manage your minor leagues properly, you run the chance of getting more Diamonds In The Rough.

Maybe part of the reasoning of the change is to force owners to actually take better care of their minor leagues.  Teams with 12 players on their rosters lead to tired prospects, which leads to injured prospects.  Once this happens, maybe people will pay more attention....just a thought.

So what's your problem again?   Nothing about this update will change what you care about.  Why are you even commenting?

Right.

"I F the minors. Now, with this update, I'll continue to F the minors".

And the update does nothing to change people that F the minors, so the comment that it will force people to take care of them...it won't.

Because some do care and I enjoy this game and want others to like it so it can thrive

If it makes it harder, less will make the effort.  Your right that you cant force people to care.  But you can frustrate them enough to stop caring.

If you care (as I do), this has no impact. None. Zilch.

It means;
1. I sign my minor league FA turds once instead of twice.
2. If, by some weird reason, I coveted my minor league FA turd, I have the upper hand in resigning (assuming same $$ offered).

It does nothing to affect my budget. It does nothing to affect future big leaguers. Nothing. No impact.

Those that care will make this work.  Those that don't, won't.

As one who does about his minors, if only to have inactives so I can rest my true prospects if fatigue shows up, I'l be fine.    I'm pretty sure the rest who care will find a way.  We'll just sign your 6 year FA that you won't.
