Calling out imperialist - poaching owners Topic

I have no problem with people trying to get new owners with classifieds or world chat postings.  However, the following is bad form all the way around:

you posted in abu you were looking to leave the world and join another. this is not only classless on your part, it's a blatant misrepresentation of the truth.

Why were you looking at his posts in ABU?

cshewood's first stalker!!!

FWIW, I sort of agree with tankerwood.   It's poor form to say "Drop them, join us!" but it's easy enough to ignore them.   More appropriate would be "If you're looking for a team, we need an owner and I think you'd be a good fit."   Checking the WC of "struggling" worlds shows initiative.  The follow-up just wasn't very good.

However, tankerwood could have said "Fantastic!!!  What's the password?" and never joined just to screw with them since he feels they played a dirty game.

I agree with MikeT 100%.  Sending out invites to random owners is perfectly fine...  sending out invites to random owners who are in worlds that are slow to fill is even better.  The only issue was with the delivery.

should have gone with a c-section instead of vaginal

Actually, the new world center has opened up this can of worms.   You can check private world chats waiting to fill, while knowing how many owners they need, and see who's disgruntled, who's talking about dumping the world and who is intent on sticking it out.  And target the right owners.   Commishes can also see, at a glance, which worlds match up with openings and see if the other world is interested in an owner agreement to fill both.

I receive sitemails to join other worlds, got another one this morning also, and have no problem with them - I even have no problem with "hey Ill join your world if you join mine" or whatever. I just think its very poor form to encourage other owners to drop out of a world that is trying to fill in order to join another one.

As for my World Chat comments in ABU - they belong in World Chat only and have nothing to do with this thread. It was also a post made 2-3 weeks ago, and I in fact just added another new team in Bo Jackson and am continuing to stay in ABU for now, hopefully it will fill soon.

World chats can be viewed by the general public.   I don't necessarily agree with that but they can.

Are you kidding? Sometimes, my whole day is made by other world's chat.

Which, might be a damning statement more than a supporting one.

Yes, it's sad for you.    I was banned for three days, initially, when an owner, not in the world, dug 9 pages deep in our world chat to find an offensive post(which, by the way, was surrounded with equally offensive posts).    When I objected, and pointed out that, in context and content, my post was rather tame, they suggested I report the other posts.

That's really a more damning statement about WifS' policy than the ability to read other world chats but it was what it was.   Of course, that was probably low-level support not using their heads but that happens far too often.

It took him 9 pages?

What the hell was wrong with you?
