Yeah seriously, a lot of time possibly wasted in this game with trying to "bid" on minor league FAs, truly one of the saddest parts of HBD.  Im glad they fixed it.

It was a pain in the butt filling out my minors in 2 worlds I had to suffer thru that.  Glad they flipped it back, it makes life easier not having to work to maintain AA & AAA filler.
Agreed, but I didn't find it that difficult/different.  I put in a mass bid for all of mine at the start of the FA period and had most of them sign back by the end of the window period.  People are too preoccupied with their real FA and coaching bids to scour for fillers.

I agree that its not that difficult, just seems unneccessary for guys that should never be anything more than roster filler.  I like resigning them so that after a few year, I know "who" S. Foxx is when I switch him from active to deactive, and don't have to look at his card to know that he'll be ok at 3b while my prospect is resting a bit.

I f*cking ******. They did this fricken update while a worl Im in was locked and waiting to rollover.  There was one SP in AAA who I plnned to bring up before ST and he automatically went to FA..  I ended up paying him $7m per season to keep them after WIS tells me that the new rule is in place and I'll have to bid on him.. Now they fricking switch back....

If he was that important to you, you should have had him on the 40 before rollover.

In real life, if a player was left unprotected like that and had a chance to hit the open market and command a $7m salary, do you think he would just resign a minor league contract with his former team for $55k?

It's difficult to have any sympathy for your plight, when you chose to ignore the sensible option that was available to you.

Eli Marquez, right?  He must have asked for a major league contract, in which case he wasn't subject to the rule to begin with.

I'm a bit more sympathetic than tec but not much.   If a guy is worth giving 7m, I'd think you'd have been more "careful" with his status.

Nonetheless, he obviously demanded a BL deal.   That wouldn't have been any different under the old guidelines.  He may have been cheaper(I'm assuming somoene else was driving the price up) but you damn sure wouldn't have gotten him for 55k.

I was curious to see how "good" this guy was.  Surprised to see with 2 years of ML service under his belt, he was acquired in a trade last season and then stashed in LoA and then HiA.

You're lucky he didn't retire.  Then again, if he did, you wouldn't have had the option of paying him 3 x $7+m.

I see ERC has been added to the sortable player stats page, but everyone has a 0.00 ... is this a known bug?
