My educated guess would be a best-case scenario split of something like this... .230/.320/.460

From a 1b, you can do better.

One question, what do you mean about "potential out as an MLB player?" Are you talking about his high makeup? Because that has nothing to do with whether he'll make the big leagues or not, it's just a rating of how likely he is to reach his projections.

It looks like Wakefield did pretty well for you in Steinbrenner, but he ain't done much for you lately. Which is my experience with these guys in a nutshell. Given three seasons, they might be an All-Star one season, mediocre another and dreadful in yet another. They seem to be terribly inconsistent, but are worth trying if they're cheap and you don't have a better option.

Yep.  He was released so I took a 327k flier on him.   He hit pretty well but I let him walk as a FA since he demanded 4.5m+.  When no one signed him and I felt his salary/value matched up, I re-signed him.   He's rewarded me with 2.6m of suck.

Of course, I've only given him 36 AB in almost 70 games so it is a SSS.

I would also think that the ballpark would have a lot to do with this type of player's sucess.  In Colorado, they might do well, but in a pitcher's park, they would be lucky to hit above the Mendoza line.

I've used guys like this before with some success - usually one good year, early in the career, and then they tail off.  but - i don't know that I've gone with splits that low - usually around 50ish.

That guy's career, from one of my worlds, has really blown me away.

I'm willing to bet he hits mostly righties. The difference between this guy and the OP's player is that this guy has one decent split; that is an enormous difference IMO.

He bats pretty often in all lineups actually.  It is shocking.
