Hi, I have about 24 million left in my prospect budget. I've already done my draft and I drafted this guy:

Brian Kerr - 2B

There are about 26 days before the IFA period ends, I have the most remaning prospect money. Should I take the second 2B? or wait out on something I need more. I also have a CF prospect who's just as good as the 2 above prospects, or else I'd take both 2B and play one at CF

The first one has much better health/patience/makeup. Like him better.

Buy 'em both.

Where would I play him? LF?

I wouldn't play either one at CF.

Trade him for a stud you need. He's a valuable 2B for someone else if you don't have a place to play him.

With 26 days left in IFA signings, do you think there could be someone better than an Overall 87 2B?

with  ifa  you never know, but i always go for the 1st stud i see if you wait you get stuck holding money and that is the worst thing to do, yeah you might loose out on an even better player, but the chances are better you get stuck holding lot of cash



also why have you not signed your draft pick? with 24  milleft in signing money you had plenty to sign a ifa and you draft pick, you just threw away an entire season worth progression, thats maybe 3-4 points  off his projections that you are not going to get back

like someone else mentioned , trade him, or play him at a different position,  stock pile talent , it's always good to have options, you never know when someone is going to offer you a trade , and you will be in a good position with 2 2B  because they can play multiple positions, heck stick him at 1B  and watch him make 20+ plays and win the gold glove

He has signed his draft pick; he's just pointing out why he is hesitant to go after another 2B.

I would go after this guy because, like pirates is saying, you are more likely to get stuck holding cash (or with a lesser player than this guy) than for a better IFA to show up.
Look to trade him in a a year or two if you don't see a good spot for him on your team.

Or play him in LF till his second arb year, then trade him.

Kerr's gonna have fatigue problems, so you'll need a good 2b to sub in.

Your projection for Kerr's AS is probably wrong; he's probably headed closer to 60 than 50 if he's at 48 now.  He may end up playable at 3B.  In any case, get both of them and figure it out in a couple of seasons.

Shobob has got it right.  Play the 2nd guy in LF and then as your replacement for Kerr when he poops out.
