DITR Eligibility Requirements Topic

Does anyone know exactly what the requirements are for a player being eligible for getting the DITR bonus?  I've heard he must be at least a third round pick, I've also heard he must have an overall less than 50.  Which is it?  What about for IFA's?  Is there an age limit as well?

I think the age limit is 23, but not absolutely sure.  I've had IFA get them.  And I have inferred from observation that it was "true" projected OVR < 55 or so, but that's a guess, not something I know.

I've always run under the assumption that the projected OVR was mid-50's.  A recent change inferred that they were going to raise the cutoff to a higher number, so it may now be high 50's.

Don't think there are any limitations on draft rounds.  I believe there is an age limit, but I'm not sure what it is.  I did have a 24 y/o get a DITR bump this season.

Ive had some older players 25-30 years old get DITR'ed.  But since they're career LoA guys who have been inactive on and off for eight seasons... as soon as they get that bump to first ballot HOF ratings... they are no longer able to develop and retire at the end of the season.  The DITR feature has really fallen off lately.  In the first few seasons, I'd get one or two guys a year that went from LoA fodder to ML/AAA utility guys.  I don't even know why I pay attention to the DITR's now.

I've never seen a player older than 24 get a DITR boost, and I do know that IFAs are definitely eligible for this. And my own anecdotal experience has been that the overall quality of these guys has been a little more noticeably better lately. That may be the result of the recent change tecwrg described above, or maybe I've just had a run of slightly better luck.

I've noticed a slight improvement in DITRs.  Not mine, but people's around me.

I can't imagine that the projections we see have any effect on DITR.  After all, wouldn't it be possible for a player to have 32 different projections?   Does anyone really think the DITR program is so advanced that it checks individual team projections?

"True" projections.  Not the projections we see.

I was just thinking the same thing...but then asked myself "are there really 'true' projections, or is there no real ceiling for guys and they develop based on a number of factors that ADV scouting takes into account which in turn makes up a projected rating?"

I ask that because I rarely see a guy develop into his projections no matter how high ADV is and I've also seen guys into their mid 30's still gain points.

I think a "true" projection could be achieved under perfect conditions.   That won't happen.

There really needs to be a "true" projection, i.e. a "ceiling" for a player . . . otherwise, that opens up a big risk for a bug to lead to runaway progression, such as what we saw with the old training bug.  Plus, a "true" projection provides a baseline for all the "fuzzy" projections provided by the scouting budgets to work from.
