I would like to throw in doomeys defense, he had no reason to add any position players as his ML team was quite full of them.  It does seem pretty odd that a guy would just show up like that, the gut reaction is to say that doomey had to have done it on accident, but he insist he did not and he really has no reason to lie, not like it hurts or benefits him in anyway.  IF CS really wanted to dig I would think they would be able to give an exact day/time that the bid was given and be able to see if doomey was online in that time period

Verbal (Written) Communication:

Don't be a grammer tool.

That was really just kind of sad, tom. Sorry.

I'm hardly being a tool.. The way you explained this whole situation was misunderstood because of you. It is NOT the fault of Admin regardless of how much they frustrate people. If you would like I can continue to educate you in other ways such as, exactly what a tool is and how it relates to you in this situation.

LOL. Too funny. Seriously man, the situation itself was convoluded, just leave it at that. The way it happened was as explained. When clarification was asked it was given and that information should have sufficed. While simplicity is important, it too can have it's own pitfalls if the issue is more complicated as was this issue. The ISSUE was the phantom signing, but that issue complicated the rest of my FA signings, so both needed to be explained. If there is something there that isn't accurate, then you have a point. .

Your post, however, was just a silly attempt to be unnecessarily condecending instead of simply saying the issue could have been more clearly defined. That, my friend, is how you communicate civilly. While what you posted is indeed true, it was barely appropos and bringing up spelling and minor grammatical defects in a forum atmosphere is just a call for attention and detracts from the heart of the conversation. That last comment just shows you need to do a little growing up, son.

You might want to check in on your own education, you are clearly missing some important punctuation in that last post. Just saying.

uh, i thought the original post was pretty clear.  i see why you were frustrated, doomey.

Sadly, TH is right.  Short and concise is the way to go.    I keep telling people that.   Spelling and grammar are good(people tend to think you may not have a legit point if it's one big run-on sentence with numerous spelling mistakes) but they're more likely to be overlooked in a short, concise post/ticket.

Also, after re-reading the initial post, CS was pretty civil.   You admitted you weren't asking for any action.   They could have dismissed you with a "Thanks for the note" that's quite common.

Part of the problem here is that nobody really believes that a phantom offer was made to the player in question.  Somebody made the offer; either doomey made the offer inadvertently and didn't realize it, or somebody hacked into his account and made the offer.

If it's the latter, then what was the purpose?  It looks like the player in question had a 79 OVR as a 3B, so I'm guessing that there is Type A (or maybe B) compensation involved.  So the team that claimed him last season is getting some free draft picks out of this.  They seem to be the only team benefiting from this transaction.

Its CS's job to read tickets, understand them, and help the user resolve them. Long-winded or not... "busy" or not... this is what they get paid to do.

In this case, first-level support was curt, rude, and put ZERO effort into trying to help doomey out. It is THEIR JOB to help. If this person doesn't want to help get the job done, there are plenty of folks out there looking for jobs who would probably love to do this.

The phantom offer does seem a bit hard to believe.   However, doomey isn't asking for any action so there's really no point in making it up.    IMO, I think it was probably a "mistake offer".    I look at a lot of FA.   More than once I've gotten as far as opening up the submit offer screen and just hit return after mulling it over.   I think it's more likely that he hit "submit and return" by mistake than a phantom offer.    Of course, if he says he never looks at position player FA, that theory goes out the window.

I don't see "curt", "rude" or "zero effort" until the last sentence.   They just didn't know what he wanted and kept asking "What do you want?"

Siccintly, this may be the most convoluded thread I have ever persued.  Tom -- I know you were trying to help, but one has to laugh when the grammar patrol confuses "your" with "you're."

Doomey - resubmit a ticket that reads simply.

Dear CS:

Recently I was awarded a player (insert link) as a free agent signing.  I never made an offer to this player and wonder why he was placed on my roster.  I have rectified the situation internally by trading him to another owner for a player of no consequence.  Please let me know why this happened so we can be certain it does not happen again.

Respectfully,

Doomey

I wouldn't expect to get any "resolution" of this problem from CS because, from their point of view, there is no problem to resolve.

As they indicated in the original ticket, all the data indicates that doomey (or at least doomey's account) made an offer to the player.

Unless other people start reporting phantom signings, one has to assume that an offer was indeed made.  I'm not sure what kind of response form CS would be expected in light of the evidence (i.e. the transaction history).

Agree with tec. Proving something that happened didn't happen = impossible without witnesses.
