Especially at AAA, I have seen barely any growth with multiple prospects with my two teams.  They have plenty of room for growth, are playing their level for the first time after moving through the system slowly, are in prime years for growth, and have great coaches.  Nevertheless, both position players and pitchers seem to have stalled.  Is this merely coincidental, or have others noticed any changes with their prospects in your most recent season?

If you post the players, we might be able to figure it out.

On another note, how stupid is Stephen Garcia?   Is it Connor Shaw time?

Yes, but he's right. That's why Aussies always fade come playoff time.

Remember Graham Lloyd? No? My point exactly

I don't know that the particular players are that important.  I was just wondering if others had experienced something similar to try to figure out if it is a trend indicating a recent programming adjustment, or bad luck in a thin slice sample. I appreciate the reply though.  Too often the forums are dominated by idiots who lack the resume to support their ridiculous posts.

As for Garcia, he may be the most frustrating player I have ever ever seen in a Carolina uniform.  The only good thing to come of the latest incident is word he may be getting treatment for his drinking.  It is probably past due, as rumors have circulated in Columbia for awhile that he has more of a serious problem than college "boys will be boys" partying.

The reason I asked for a specific player(or players) is because there's usually a reason for "odd" results.  If you don't want to provide one, that's cool but I haven't seen a decrease in development.   In fact, I'm seeing a few more "odd" development patterns than I ever have(in a good development way).

I thought Garcia had already gone thru alcohol counseling.  While he may have a serious alcohol problem, his behavior is that of someone who doesn't get "it".  It's usually reserved for guys who appear to have long, professional careers ahead of them but I don't think that's going to apply to him.  As far as most frustrating, I'd submit Derek Watson as a candidate.  Garcia gets a lot of press but that's because he a QB and the Gamecocks are getting national coverage now.

Derek Watson came to mind too, but Garcia is more frustrating for me personally because he has no excuse not to make better decisions.  His brothers are Ivy Leaguers.  He's just an idiot, and he's likely going to be one for the foreseeable future.  I had a disagreement with some other fans who said something about him being a "kid".  He's 22 and a father.  He is not a kid.

I'll link some of the AAA players who have not developed for my team currently in season.  All of these guys are in their first AAA season, and 4th professional season overall.  I did not get one of the seven or eight qualified FI, so I'm not terribly concerned about stagnant defensive numbers (aside from catcher's PC).

Yeah, I thought his first couple of incidents could be written off as "stupid kid who doesn't know any better because he's been the BMOC for quite some time" but there comes a time when you need to learn a lesson.   If I heard the story right, he went to a class mandated by the AD while drunk and was disruptive.   College kid drinking is not a surprise but skip the class.   Seems simple enough.

As for your players, I think the answer is in the 2nd paragraph.  4th year players and below average FI.   They aren't getting any physical bumps in season and the fielding(glove/arm accuracy) ratings are going to stay stagnant.   In their 4th season, progress will be about 40% of the previous season's progress.   So, if he progressed 4 points in contact last season, the best you can hope for is 2 more this season.  For the most part, that looks like what's happening.

You basically heard it right.  He'd been out with one of the O-lineman celebrating the lineman's birthday.  The other guy is facing in-house discipline (running steps and such) for drinking before the meeting.  Difference between him and Garcia is this guy has been on campus for three years with literally no previous problems (not even missed optional workouts), and he kept his mouth shut when Garcia became disruptive.
