I have the appropriate training budget and my recently retired FI was one of the 4 best in the league. I have an SS I was really excited about (defensively). Last season, he gained 6 points in his glove and 5 in his arm (season 2 of development). So, approaching rollover, I was pretty jacked about his gain 4-5 points in range.
He gained 2.
So, I might be doing something on the margins wrong: like having the wrong bench coach at AA (hell, having him in AA to start with, since it was his second season). Rather than be told that "no one reaches projections" and "show me the guy's card so I can tell how stupid you are," can someone refresh my reading as to what factors help develop range (besides a training budget, AB's, and a decent fielding coach)?
