Spring Training Improves Ratings? Topic

Just curious to know if players get extra points on their ratings whether they participate in Spring Training or not?  It's my observation that prospects will receive the same ratings improvements whether they play in Spring Training or not.  What say you?

Yes they do, one of the best times to gain points actually. Just dont overuse them

My prospects also receive points if I don't include them on  the ST roster.  Do prospects receive "more" points if they participate in ST?

My experience is that it helps to be invited -- but I see no benefit from them actually getting ST playing time.

This may be overmanaging, but has anyone tried adding & removing players during spring training to get more than 70 players exposed to spring training and the chance of getting extra ratings?  Like, halfway through, removing 10 spring training invites and putting 10 more in?

I am pretty sure any extra playing time is beneficial.

I've seen non-ST prospects receive boosts in their ratings equal to prospects whom were invited and actually played a considerable amount of time in ST.  So, I'm trying to figure out what's the "true" benefit?  Unless their ST playing time counts as games played and they receive an extra "bump" in ratings in the course of the season.  For example, players usually see their "ratings boost" approximately 35 games into the season.  However, if they participate in ST, the "ratings boost" would take place sooner and therefore receiving 5 "ratings boost" periods as opposed to the usual 4.  I'm sure I'm being way over analytical about this.  However, if there is TRULY no benefit to playing ST, then why would I risk injuring some of my key prospects when they could just sit on the bench and collect a free "ratings boost".

Forget risking injury- why even have it and have it so long if it doesn't boost ratings, there is no "rust", and you have the player's ratings (not like a real manager who has to bring in a guy to see how much he improved.)
